We booked for two nights but left within an hour. The property was older and not as shown in the photos. There was a screw sticking out of the front step, damaged skirting, and mildew on the exterior. The riverbank was overgrown with weeds, including wild parsnipâno safe water access. The hot tub was dirty, filled with debris, lukewarm, and nonfunctional. Inside, there was a strong Pine-Sol smell and a urine odor in the bathroom. An unlisted neighboring house sits just feet away, removing any sense of privacy. As we left, cars of young adults arrived and began unloading alcohol. The host was dismissive when I raised concerns and refused any kind of refund, saying most guests would know what to expect from the description. This review is for those who expect the listing to match the photos.
This was the perfect little house for me and my partner to stay at while we fished the driftless area. The tiny is house is adorable and functional. It was clean and had way more amenities than expected - tons of towels, bedding, extra toilet paper, fully stocked kitchen utensils. There is a ton of storage. We didn't use the hot tub but it's private and has a nice view of the river. It was easy to go down the road and buy firewood for fires each night. Hot water on demand and good wifi service. We really felt spoiled as this is our "outdoorsy trip" but stayed so comfortably in the tiny house. Highly recommended and we would love to stay again!
The tiny home was nice and easy to get too. It was clean for the most part. There was a lot of dog hair. Beside that little discrepancy my wife and I had a great time!
The tiny house has an issue with sewage gas backing up into the home. Prior to our arrival, the hosts had sprayed down the unit with febreeze in an attempt to cover the smell. We had to sleep with the windows open (in December) to make our overnight remotely tolerable. We attempted to contact the hosts after we left to discuss our stay, and we received zero response after 48 hours. I hope the hosts get this issue resolved and take the time to inform guests if there is a maintenance issue prior to their arrival.
We had a great night away in the tiny house. A couple of tight fits if youâre over 6 feet tall, but if you donât see that coming with a tiny home, well, thatâs on you.
Great experience!
The listing was fairly accurate. The home is super cute and in an easy to find location. One thing I did not care for was the lack of curtains, and the portable fans were not charged so it was a bit warm in the lofts. The hot tub was nice and private. It was a very relaxing stay for my husband and I on our anniversary.
We had a spring break getaway and we needed to disconnect. Having no cell service was the perfect answer! A great little tiny space. Hot tub was hot. The view was gorgeous. We will definitely be booking again!
It was great! The listing was accurate and we expected the house next door but it was still a very private stay. We didnât have service when we got there to open the Vrbo app to get the passcode to get inside, so we had to backtrack until we got service. Otherwise everything was great! Would recommend!
Luckily we read the reviews before we arrived so we were aware of there being another place next door. That being said it still felt private and the views were gorgeous. Sitting in the hot tub looking at the night sky was a highlight for sure!
Great convenient place beautiful settting all immenities worked out well. Fun place tp stay.
Very Cozy great views of River. Definately fun adventute!!
Quiet and restful. A great spot that was close enough to Decorah for dinner and shopping but far enough away that it was so peaceful. Great communication with owner!
Did a weekend away for our anniversary. Was great to
Have breakfast on the deck, fire at night all in the setting of the river bank.
The kitchen was great to make breakfast and a morning cup of coffee. We throughly enjoyed the screen door to enjoy the fresh air while we watched a movie in the living room area.
Easy to get to and weâll stocked with plenty of towels and pans do cook with.
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. We always wanted to try a tiny home, and loved it inside and out. Being right by the river was serene, with abundant wildlife, especially birds of prey.
My only early hesitation was that in the pictures you didnât think there was another residence next door, however after staying it was a none issue and still felt like it was private enough.
There is a canoe/kayak rental nearby that was a huge plus for us!
Rest and adventure all in one! Thank you đ
