Great historical experience, but poor hotel. Rates are cheap for Dubai, but "superior room" (rennovated) had a very dirty carpet and worn modern furniture. Music played in corridor, could be heard in the cabin all day. Cleaners forgot to clean my cabin twice in four nights. An Ibis would offer better standards. Breakfast and buffet meal were good value. An Ibis would offer better standards. However, the historical tour/tram wete great.

I cannot recommend staying here; the value proposition is severely lacking. Specifically, the check-in staff appeared poorly trained and lacked professionalism. After an 18-hour flight from the USA, I was assigned a room with inadequate air conditioning. Furthermore, the carpets emitted a persistent and suffocating odor, indicating poor maintenance. The staff demonstrated a clear lack of concern regarding these significant issues

Had to stay the British icon as my mum travelled on her years ago and as she’s not lost her charm, if a bit worn in places. The staff were excellent, always ready to help and helpful, especially reception. It was also great to be able to roam the ship and see the history and exhibits.

The staff were all amazing. The ship is historic and grand. The room we stayed in the air conditioner was very noisy and getting to and from the hotel was difficult as we had to book taxis. There is a lot of building work there and taxis found it difficult to get there.

The history of the QE2 was everywhere, wandering around the vessel was a joy. The reception staff and particularly the concierge were very helpful. The room was very clean and well appointed. The lack of an outdoor swimming pool was a disappointment. I hope that the owners prioritise the restoration of an outdoor pool. An indoor pool was available but was in the bowls of the ship, very small and uninviting. The pool attendant was particularly aggressive and unhelpful. The food in the Lido restaurant was acceptable but the dress code was not adhered to or enforced! For me the vessel's history was my reason for staying and for that I was not disappointed.

The room was very clean and housekeeping looked after it very well. The ship is now beginning to show her age. The company that manages the ship is doing its best, but it will need quite a considerable amount of money spent on the ship in the next few years. We liked to be able to sit on the aft deck after dark and the bar was also an enjoyable, relaxing area. We were half board and found the buffet meals catered for most tastes, but only to about a 3 star quality.
