Property was absolutely beautiful and inviting. The staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the castles history. Now.....there is a big but. If you are driving your own car to the castle then this won’t apply to you. Access to the actual castle is a headache. You could catch the number 3 bus and it will drop you at the entrance.......then you’ll have to walk 15 minutes at a fast pace. Not fun when it’s dark and raining. NO shuttle or staff to pick you up. You could take the X95 bus...but no one has ever heard of it apparently. Uber does not serve the area, as stated by the castle check in desk at the castle. Sooo....you’ll have to take a taxi from the castle to Waverly bridge and visa versa for £20 each way (£40 round trip to town). Well, that really bites..... But overall, the place is fantastic, the staff are lovely, and the breakfast is awesome. It’s just the commute sucks.
