Luxury Home on Creek on 2 Acres - Hot Tub/Sauna/Pool Table/Fire Pit/BBQ Grill

NOTE: 4WD/AWD required in winter with snow tires (Thanksgiving through late March). Chains can be rented in the neighborhood for $30/day.

Modeled after the old gold and silver mines in the area, our 3,300 square foot, 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath, custom built home is situated above Little Cascade creek on 2 secluded acres.

Only 2 miles from Purgatory Ski Resort and 24 miles from historic downtown Durango, yet the 'Creek House' offers privacy and seclusion and has been outfitted to be the ultimate vacation rental - private Hot Tub (new Feb 2024), Sauna, pool table, outdoor gas fire pit, 3 decks with great views, gas fire pit on the main deck, 2 separate living spaces, BBQ grill, games and of course the relaxing sounds of the creek, which brings back guests year after year. The home features Starlink WIFI with average internet speeds over 100mbs (we have noted them over 200mbs) which makes watch your favorite streaming services on multiple devices no problem (we finally cut the cable cord).

The luxurious home is furnished with rustic, high quality furnishings, historic mining and western photos and features TVs in the Main Living space (60') and the 2nd living space (42') and three of the bedrooms (42').

In addition, there is a kids playroom as well as a high chair, stair gates, plastic dishes, kids books and toys.

Bed Configuration:
Master Bedroom - King Bed with TV and Ensuite Bath (3rd Floor)
2nd Bedroom - King Bed with TV (3rd Floor)
3rd Bedroom- King Bed and TV (Bottom Floor - along with pool table, hot tub and sauna)
4th - Queen and 2 sets of bunk beds (twin over twin) - (4th floor)

This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay).

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.

Fantastic place with caveats

"The Creek House ranks among the most expansive accommodations I've found in the area.Pros: - Very clean - Sauna - Stunning views of the creek, surrounding trees, and wildlife - Clean hot-tub - Great kitchen layout - Well set up areas for socializingCons: - The driveway has significant design flaws, particularly problematic during winter months with recent snowfall. The host's warnings about chains and AWD are not a suggestion; they're a necessity. Be prepared to shovel and salt during your stay. - There are six flights of stairs in this home, which may be challenging for some guests. - The second-floor bathroom shower is very drafty, and the half-shower swing door leaves something to be desired. Additionally, the shower head has been mounted unusually high (about 10 feet up). One of my fellow guests found this shower to be unusable. - While the kitchen is well-stocked with countertop appliances, additional small kitchen hand tools would be appreciated.Overall, our group enjoyed this location, and we would likely stay again.Personal observation: The choice of bathroom sink handles may be perceived as fun by some, but I found them to be kitschy and cheap."

Fabulous Family Vacation!

Our family of 10 recently stayed in this beautiful home as we visited the area for a week. Everything about our stay was wonderful, from the clear and always-immediate communication with the home's owner to Creekside's many amenities. We enjoyed all that the house had to offer and had to drag ourselves away after a too-short stay. Can't say enough great things about this serene and lovely home and would return again in a heartbeat.

Great location and beautiful property

The house was great and had all the items we needed while we were there. It was a short drive to the ski slopes. The beds were comfy. We cooked most of the time while we were there and we liked how they had all the cooking utensils we needed and that they had condiments like salt and pepper to use for our meals. We enjoyed lighting the wood burning fireplace and hanging out after skiing. The only thing we didn't like was the hot tub was a little dirty and had debris floating around. The owner was very easy to communicate with and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful location and house with great amenities!

The house is only minutes away from Purgatory ski slopes, and the views are stunningly beautiful. Beds were very comfortable. We loved using the sauna, the hot tub, firepit, fireplaces and pool table. The kitchen was well-appointed and had some of the basics in the pantry (S&P, EVOO, spices, etc...). The large dining table worked well and allowed us to eat all together (6 adults and 5 teens/kids). All 3 of our cars were AWD or 4WD, but when the snow/ice got bad, only the car with chains could make it in/out of the driveway. The road to the house is VERY slow going in the snow, so even though Purgatory is super close, it can take 15 minutes to get down the road. Overall - Great house for a large group!

Great cabin in the woods

Our family had a nice time here and the location was perfect next to Purgatory. The road got blocked one night due to the snow causing a driver’s vehicle to slide, but we were able to pass within an hour. Definitely make sure you have all wheel drive for the winter. The microwave didn’t work when we arrived, but the host was easy to work with and someone came to check and fix it right away. Overall, a beautiful place in the woods that felt remote, but was relatively close to everything we needed.

Amazing views!

The property has the most amazing views, we can only imagine how beautiful it would be with snow covering those pines. The house is comfortable for all ages but note there are 4 floors( lots of steps). Baby gates were at the home which helped in keeping 1 year old on main level. The kitchen was well stocked and perfect for family dinners and dining area worked well for family game night. Unfortunately, fire restrictions were in effect so we were unable to have outdoor bon fires, Mother Nature can’t be controlled. All in all, we loved property and would stay again.

My wife, five kids and me stayed here and loved it. Beautiful area. The house itself was better than I thought it would be. The kitchen had more cookware, etc. than any other place than we've stayed. First floor pool table was perfect for occupying the kids and giving the adults some quiet time on the second floor.

Best winter getaway

I can’t rave enough about this amazing property!! I had to book this house as a back up to my original stay and I’m so glad I had to because this house is a quite the gem along the lake near purgatory resort! The hosts were amazing from in depth details for everything you’d need during your stay to local recommendations to indulge in. We opted in to staying in and cooking and this house came equipped with every utensil needed to cook a full spread for every meal! The house itself is a statement, it is so beautifully decorated and makes you feel right at home. The hot tub and sauna were amazing after long days on the slopes and snowmobiling. Already talking about coming back later this year with another group that’s how amazing this property was, communication with the owner was astounding they were able to help us with any matter that came to hand. Thank y’all for such an amazing experience!

Perfect family Escape

We stayed here the week before Christmas. We had 4 adult couples and 7 kids (5-13yo). We slept comfortably, there was plenty of space to gather, but also room to avoid feeling crowded. Kitchen is well stocked, bathrooms are nice a spacious, beds comfortable. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Mountain Retreat

Overall great place to stay. Towels and sheets were clean. Nice accommodations with plenty of room. Pretty easy to get to and instructions for using security, televisions, fire pits, etc. was easy and everything operated properly. Only negative comments is that the surfaces were clean floor and counters but the upper surfaces like windows (which were plentiful) and fans were extremely dusty. In addition, I killed a couple dozen flies daily in the main bedroom and kitchen? Not sure why or where they came from. Windows remained closed. Overall good stay.

This house is better than the pictures. Beautiful area and a fantastic house for 2 couples and one family with a 4 and 10 year old. Lots to do there and we even got to pick wild raspberries on the property. A jewel.

Nestled in nature

We had a wonderful time at this property! It was a great set-up and all parts of the home were utilized. We had two families staying for a week (4 adults, 2 teens, and 5 kids) and there was plenty of space for everyone to relax, plus a fantastic kitchen which made it easy to cook for 11. We also enjoyed being able to explore the creek and wooded area as well as watching the stars as we enjoyed evenings by the fire pit. The Creek House is definitely off the beaten path. It is a bit of a drive down the windy dirt road to get to, but definitely worth it:) Additionally, Keith, the property manager, was always quick to respond to any questions we had and gave great recommendations as to what to do while we were in the area!
