Camp Haliburton - Waterfront A-Frame w Sauna
Summary:
Escape to "Camp," our cozy, waterfront, custom built A-frame cabin that is perfect for a peaceful getaway. Relax with nature walks, detoxify in the sauna, unwind on the dock, or explore charming local towns nearby. Fully equipped with a kitchen, two queen beds, 1.5 baths, multiple decks, a fire pit (not accessible in winter), and BBQ, Camp ensures comfort year-round with heating and air conditioning.
The Space:
In today's era of remote work and the persistent encroachment of professional responsibilities into our personal lives, the serenity and rejuvenation offered by a vacation have become essential. While we may not have control over the demands of our work culture, we can certainly escape the hustle of our fast-paced professional lives and immerse ourselves in the tranquility of nature.
Embrace the unhurried rhythm of winters and the gentle embrace of summers at our cottage, aptly named "Camp." Here, you can take leisurely nature walks, unwind on the dock, or explore nearby local towns. Check out our page highlighting local gems to enhance your stay with unique experiences.
Camp is fully equipped with a comprehensive kitchen featuring a stove top, convection oven, fridge, coffee maker, kettle, pots and pans, as well as dishes and cutlery. The accommodation boasts two queen-sized beds, 1.5 bathrooms, and multiple decks throughout the property, complete with a fire pit (not accessible in winter) and BBQ for your enjoyment. There is a beautiful sauna for your enjoyment with an electric stove.
During the summer we have plenty of water toys to be enjoyed down at the water - 2 paddle boards, 2 floating donuts, 2 kayaks, 4 paddles, 4 life jackets, and a Sunchill water hammock.
During the cooler months, Camp is heated by a propane stove and electric heating. In the summertime, air-conditioning and ceiling fans are in place to ensure your comfort throughout your stay.
We strive to provide the best possible experience for all our guests and aim to make your stay with us as enjoyable as can be.
Please note - our driveway has a steep hill on it. There are 2 parking spaces at the top of the hill and 3 parking spaces at the bottom of the hill. You won't be able to drive down the hill in the wintertime and will have to carry your bags to the cottage from the top of the hill (roughly 30m away). 4 wheel drive is highly recommended to be able to reach the property in the winter time.
There is a large staircase down to the lake, so will not work well for those with mobility issues.
The Neighborhood:
Haliburton Town is just 15 minutes away and has everything: grocery stores, LCBO, and pharmacies.
Other Things to Note:
Please note - our driveway has a steep hill on it. There are 2 parking spaces at the top of the hill and 3 parking spaces at the bottom of the hill. You won't be able to drive down the hill in the wintertime without 4 wheel drive and will have to carry your bags to the cottage from the top of the hill (roughly 30m away).
There is a large staircase down to the lake, so will not work well for those with mobility issues.
May is black fly season in the area, however still a very beautiful time of the year.
House rules:
1. All guests must be registered at the time of booking. There will be an additional fee of $150 per person per day for every unregistered guest. Please let us know prior to your arrival if you need to add additional guests. (Additional fees may apply)
2. We run on septic. Please only flush toilet paper and nothing else. This helps us ensure the septic doesn’t clog during your stay. Any damage to the septic system as a result of anything else being flushed will result in a minimum $400 fee depending on the damages incurred.
3. NO SMOKING or VAPING inside the cabin or front/back porch. Smoke on driveway or fire-pit area & dispose of cigarette butts responsibly. We are in nature, please respect this. If we find evidence of any smoking inside the cabin, a $400 fee will apply.
4. No shoes inside the cabin, also, please leave the cabin as you found it; all the furniture in its original place.
5. Never leave fire-pit unattended, put it out completely using water or snow before you leave.
6. Cottage country can witness a fair amount of snow during the Winter months. There can be ice buildup on the driveway. Guests acknowledge responsibility for their own actions and will not hold any owners of the cottage responsible for any injury due to slipping on the driveway. Recommended travelling in AWD or 4x4 and winter tires during the winter months.
7. Garbage cannot be left outside overnight (it attracts wild animals).
