While we received multiple confirmations of our reservation, including the morning we were to check in, the property manager never sent us check in instructions, even after we emailed asking for them. Then, after spending over an hour with multiple calls to VRBO customer service, who also couldn’t get ahold of the property manager, we arrived at the location. There was a 4ft high, 10ft wide heap of garbage in the front yard and looking in through the windows it was apparent the house was under construction, no furniture, piles of rubble on the floor. While VRBO gave us a refund, that was by no means helpful when we were scheduled for a family get together at the house celebrating our daughter’s engagement. We all came from all over the country and couldn’t find alternate accommodations last minute since the area is a popular tourist spot for the weekend for New Yorkers. Shame on you VRBO for not properly vetting your properties and property managers!!!!
