Very nice stay
Posted Jan. 18, 2024 on HotelsService was excellent can't fault it. Room was cleaned and the view was nice. Wish we had checked how many towels we had, but that's on us. Totally recommend for your next stay!

Staff need replacement

This property is right near the castle in Edinburgh. Great spot! But I booked this because when I contacted the hotel, they said they had an airport shuttle. No shuttle. Fortunately cabs are plentiful, but you’d be taking a chance if it was a rainy day. (Edinburgh was a stop for us on our way to visit a friend in the north. When we needed a taxi to the train, none were available because of the rain)

There is public transport from the Airport where its a short walk after to the Hotel after but we have never had a direct shuttle. 2nd time to stay
Posted Oct. 12, 2023 on HotelsWe stayed at the Grassmarket in 2016 and really enjoyed it, so we chose it again for our stay in Edinburgh. It’s in a great location as far as eating, shopping,and seeing the castle. The day clerk ( sorry I didn’t get his name) was so friendly and helpful. If you need a taxi, be sure to ask about the “magic button”! 😁 If we ever return, we will stay here again. My only issue was how close the bed was to the bathroom door, but after knocking into it a couple of times, we learned!

This is a great hotel right in the heart of Edinburgh Old Town, adjacent to the famed Victoria Street and the Royal Mile. The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and the water pressure in the shower is great. There are numerous dining options around the hotel. There are lots of sightseeing opportunities in the area, including Edinburgh Castle, St. Giles Cathedral, and the John Knox House.
