Es ist ein kleines, ruhiges und sauberes Hotel an einer Bergwiese in ca. 700m Höhe mit Sicht ins "Fränchische". Hier kocht der Chef selbst und gut. Auch draußen wurde an überdachten, rustikalen Bauernmöbeln freundlich serviert. Das Früstücksbufet ist einfach, aber liebevoll angerichtet und ausreichend. Vom Hotel haben wir Wanderungen in die Höhe des Thüringerwaldes unternommen und mit dem Auto zu interessanten Museen in Coburg, Rödental und Sonneberg aufgesucht.

Ich habe mich sehr über das Zimmer gefreut, da es groß und harmonisch eingerichtet war. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Ich kann das Berggasthaus Kranich mit gutem Gewissen weiterempfehlen
