Beautiful location with good room stock however terrible execution on the hotel management side. This isn’t a cheap hotel so the expectation here on guest experience is understandably high, with that said by fixing a few things this hotel could be great. Firstly, the food was of a really low standard, with cheap buffet style offer and cheap buffet taste, this really needs to be fixed. Secondly the hotel will really benefit from a proper guest experience manager. To put this into context, we had thought we had organised a private 4 hour boat trip with 48 hours prior notice and had humbly asked the activities attendant to prepare an itinerary for the tour. Unfortunately in the evening prior to the tour (9pm), the activities manager interrupted us at dinner to tell us the boat was not available for a 4 hour tour and also wanted us to give him our proposed itinerary for the tour (ie he was too lazy to put one together himself / forgot). On the plus side, the hotel offers a few tour options included in the price and Ryan our tour guide was top tier. Staying at the hotel also has some benefits with priority luggage and lounge at the airport, but needless to say, the chance of us staying at Pangulasian island again is very very slim.

The staff was incredible. I have celiac disease which is not easy to accommodate but chef Stanley came to ask me what I wanted at every meal and then made me gluten free safe food so I never got sick and ate well. All guides especially Anton who I interacted with a lot were so attentive to needs and were proactive in pointing out wildlife and sharing facts as well as bringing all the supplies you needed for the day. I can’t say enough good things about Anton. The guides also paddled the tandem kayak for me twice while I just sat - it was ideal! They took pictures and were so professional and kind. Another guide Ryan aLeo assisted with the kids in our group. Beyond the people, the actual island and surrounding area were beautiful. It felt like a movie it was so unreal. We did the complimentary (other than $200 php lagoon fee) resort organized private tours each day and it was a short boat ride to each. This was the most incredible and relaxing trip. I hope to be back. There was an issue at the end with our Airswift flight off el Nido back to Manila getting cancelled because the small propeller planes don’t have modern technology and can’t fly through haze, which was stressful to be stuck and unable to get back to the resort at night after the cancellation, so just beware of Airswift limitations as a small airline and try to have a day buffer in case you get trapped on the island like we did, even though they say that’s a rare occurrence.

Best service. The snorkeling is fantastic. Don't go here if you want to party. Do go here if you love nature, want to relax and see marine life and local lizards and monkeys. Tour A and B are a must, highly recommended do at least one of them. It was a very peaceful week. The food was unreal.

The only place to stay in El Nido

Posted Mar. 7, 2020 on Hotels
If you wrote down a list of exactly what you were looking for in a hotel/resort in El Nido, Pangulasian ticks all the boxes. The key thing that makes all the difference is its proximity to the main attractions, Big Lagoon, Small Lagoon, etc. So when I left the resort in a speed boat at 7am, the tourists from the main island do not arrive until 9am or 10am. I had small lagoon all to myself for a full hour and no one showed up. I also enjoyed secret lagoon for a full hour before anyone showed up. These are some of the most beautiful places in the world, and you don't want them ruined with the sight of florescent kayaks and life vests. El Nido has put restrictions on the number of people that can visit each site, and the combination of sites that can be visited on the same day. So you will need to stay here at least 3 nights as you can't go to big and small lagoon on the same day. Pangulasian is a spacious beautiful resort on its own private island. The staff are friendly, the rooms are relaxing, the views are heavenly, it really is paradise. Like the Maldives but with views of nature and more greenery. The resort also has a small trail to a view point where you can watch the beautiful El Nido sunrise and sunset. Finally if you're an early bird, you can go snorkeling right in front of the resort and see sharks. Not just one small shark from a distance. I saw 7 different sharks right in front of me. Don't worry they are not dangerous, and fear you more than you fear them.

My family and I had an amazing vacation at Pangulasian Resort. The natural beauty of the island and the resort are second to none. The staff at the resort are warm and attentive, and the day spa is divine. A wide range of water activities are available, as well as a breathtaking private beach. The only area that requires improvement is the food quality (the cocktails were fantastic, though). I can’t wait to return!
