The Hotel is ok to good, the staff certainly raise the level. Rooms could certainly do with a refresh, the bathroom is straight out of the 80âs but kept clean. Bedroom windows wouldn't lock, and had gaps that let a lot of noise through.
Food was good and varied enough.
Overall a pleasant enough stay
Very disappointed with standards of welcome, service upkeep of rooms. My booking was 'cancelled' due to a government ministers meeting in Eldoret. Without any notice my booking was cancelled and I was offered one of the basic family rooms if I wanted to stay. I had booked a 'deluxe' room which was confirmed and paid for at time of booking. Expectations were for a in room refrigerator, tea and coffee maker, air-conditioning. None were supplied and the room was on 4th floor - no elevators. The general condition of the room was very poor. No compensation was offered and my protests were met with indifference.
I could not recommend this hotel as a hotel that delivers what it shows on the internet. Very disappointing stay.
There was a complication with the check in and was made to wait for two hours while they sorry it out. I was given a room I didnât book (less quality room). Although everything was booked âguaranteedâ and paid for they made me and several other guests with the same issue feel like we were in the wrong. Will not stay here again and do not recommend.
The Sirikwa is an older hotel, but it is solidly built and has been kept up. The staff is accommodating and the grounds loverly. The dining room is clean, well-lit and pleasant. Although the survey forced me to rate the local area, I have no idea about it. We arrived late and left early.
Staff are very weak both technically and in terms of social skills. For example even the F&B Supervisor seemed to lack even the most basic knowledge about wines! They badly need training in both aspects.
This hotel must have seen better days, but currently its more rundown, although having said that the staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. The description of the rooms on Hotel.com is wrong. Non of the rooms have air conditioning, the floors seem to be sticky, the condition of the bathroom is just about tolerable. Overall the hotel does not seem to impress, even after i changed from standard double room to a "VIP" room.
