Beautiful room in a beautiful Victorian building in the heart of old town Eureka. So many things to do within walking distance. A very friendly and helpful staff made our stay very pleasant.
We did not stay. There were many homeless people around. This part of town was terrible. Bars on the windows and doors. The area was deserted other than the homeless. We were on our 50th anniversary trip and the place scared us.
Wife and I spent 4 nights in Eureka and found this hotel. Great location, with walking distance to most of good restaurants in town. There are a fair amount of homeless or down on their luck around but we never had any problems. Probably common for California. The hotel is a classic old dame and our room was very unique but cozy. Lots of early 1900 charm but bathroom was modern, roomy and worked well. Recommend this place for people that want a unique, old time experience. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Amazing little place with super friendly and helpful staff!
Cat and dog friendly!
The location was perfect for walking around and exploring the down town.
Rooms where clean and the water pressure was great.
Would absolutely stay here again!
This is fun and quirky place. Definitely not your chain out of the box hotel! Cool antique furnishings! I only wish there had been a show the night I was there!
We liked the look of the building. Went to all the floors and loved the decor. There was a dance the night we stayed. Ticket taker set up literally outside our door. That was kinda weird. Party and decorations in our hallway was fun. Music didn’t bother us at all. Old feel was cool. With that being said no air conditioning no fridge no microwave and the furniture is of course old to go with the vibe. Location not the greatest. You’re across from homeless shelter type situation. Didn’t have any issues with that. There was commotion in the morning with yelling and emergency services taking someone away. If you dont mind city sounds and like history feel this is a cool place. If you’re looking for luxury with all the bells and whistles I would say maybe not. For the price I think I was expecting more.

Hotel is closing for renovation. No maintenance upkeep as rooms were going to be remodeled. No bedspread, just a thin blanket. Dining room and bar closed. Wait til next year opening. Not worth the price now!

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Room was in bad shape, not very clean, and very expensive. Would not stay here again.
Very clean hotel and room. Very friendly staff.
Very charming hotel. With a clean feel of era long passed. Gallagher Bar downstairs had good food and friendly staff. Very convenient since eating in the area is quite limited.
Stayed one night and it was really comfortable. The decor is crazy and mismatched but quite sweet all the same, the property is old and has a creaky charm. Our room was a large triple aspect and very light and airy. Breakfast was adequate with tea coffee porridge yogurt fruit and scones. We ate at the restaurant across the street for dinner and that did good fish /seafood. Great location easy parking safe area.
They took a $100 ‘bond’ but I’m still awaiting its return, hopefully soon.
Everything about this historic property was above and beyond our expectations. Delightful staff, and though we were there for a special event, the live music and great drinks topped the evening. We will be back soon!
