Welcome to A Wave From It All, a spacious 3BR/2BA condo located at Destin West Heron, the bayside complex of Destin West Beach and Bay Resort. Take a quick walk across the skybridge to enjoy the Gulf beaches of Okaloosa Island. Walk to the pier and go fishing, or grab a bite to eat at one of the Boardwalk restaurants. You may want to simply relax on the balcony and enjoy amazing views of the Choctawhatchee Bay and the lazy river lagoon pool! This beautiful condo has undergone a complete renovation in May 2018 with all new furniture, paint, and cabinets. With a king in the master, a queen in the guest bedroom, a twin over full bunk + twin trundle in the second guest room, along with a queen air mattress in the living room, this lovely unit sleeps 10. At Destin West Heron you can enjoy extreme water fun in the 5000 square foot pool with a kiddie area, a 700 foot Lazy River, heated pool with waterfall, or one of two hot tubs. The Heron building boasts its own bayside pool that is heated year round! Enjoy your view of the Choctawhatchee Bay, while the kids enjoy the lazy river. Cross over the sky bridge to the Gulf beaches without worrying about traffic. Charcoal grills and picnic tables on both the bayside and beachside make grilling out inviting and fun. As a guest at Destin West, you can enjoy access to the pools, bars, and restaurants located at the The Island Beach Resort at Destin West beachside.

The property and condo was great. Easy access to restaurants. I had 3 elderly parents and my husband. The handicapped parking was nice. There are carts available to help load and unload your vehicles. Everyone we encountered was courteous, staff and other tenants.I would absolutely stay at this facility again.

Always a great vacation spot. Kids like the closeness of the bay and hopping in to find crabs. Lazy River is very relaxing and where we spent most of our time. The condo was clean and comfortable!

The condo was fantastic! Destin West was amazing as usual! We won't stay anywhere else! The only suggestion I have is to have the Master bedroom airflow checked as it did not cool down like the rest of the house!

Destin West is our Jam

Destin West is an excellent facility. It was great as always. We've vacationed here roughly 10 times in the last 15 years and have never had a bad stay. This unit was in good shape. The handle on the master shower was a little dodgy, but we figured it out. One more Roku on the TVs would have been helpful, but overall, this is an excellent unit. Your balcony gets sun in the morning and is shaded in the very hot afternoon. Being just a bit higher than the palm trees gives you an exellent view of the bay and the pool. You even have a slight view of the Gulf.

Great vacation spot

We had a great stay. The unit was nice and clean. The condo amenities were great. The element on the stove blew up while we were cooking on our first night. Someone was out the next morning to look at it. They weren’t able to get a new stove in during our stay but brought us a large countertop oven a couple days later that we could cook in. There’s more beds than what I saw on the listing which was great. There’s a twin trundle bed under the bunk bed and a pullout bed in the couch. We would stay here again.

Dirty not well maintained

The location is perfect. The pools were very clean, warm and fun. The beach right across the street was about a 10 minute walk using the elevators. The room itself was dirty and clearly not maintained. The shared bathroom toilet was clogged most of our trip. We called maintenance and they came and told us the toilet needed to be replaced. The bunkbed was unstable and wobbly. The patio furniture was literally falling apart. Every chair outside was missing a piece under the leg so they were unstable. The floors were disgusting, so the cleaning service never cleans them. The slidding door was so hard to open, the handle broke off. Maintenance came and fixed the handle and said the wheels need to be replaced and the track was very dirty. The master bedroom was 10 degrees hoter than the rest of the condo. The appliances were old and hard to use. The fridge kept freezing everything. The pans were so old, they made the food taste weird. The couch in the living room is old, stained and dirty. The cusions are so flat you can feel the frame when youre sitting on it. The linen on the beds were so old, they had little balls on them so bring your own sheets. Everything was very cheap, old and dirty. We will definitely be back to the restort, but not in this unit! The company itself answered all of our questions very fast and had maintenance out quickly.

Will be back!

The satisfaction that we got from staying on this resort is almost unmatched. There was so much to do! The code we were given to the door did not work, however, their response was very quick and we were still able to get in quickly. were new travelers and there was 10 people in our group and we took three different cars. I didn’t realize that we only can park two of them in the parking garage if they went over and above to how much locate parking for a car close by. We had a ton of space. I would highly recommend!!!

Good but

My family loves Destin West and have been coming for years. I have been disappointed before when the property is managed by a real estate company/property group and not an individual. They just don’t have the same level of care. With this condo, we knew we couldn’t get in early so we kept ourselves busy all day. We get there at 4:30pm and the code doesn’t work. I called the office number, was put on hold for 15 minutes and when I finally spoke to someone they were not concerned. They said the code must have not been updated. I asked to receive an email of the correct code and I never got an email. There were no wash clothes in the unit. Not the cleanest, floors were very dirty. But it is a beautiful unit, spacious, great view.

Very disappointed

Condo was very dirty and we had workmen in the condo for several hours due to a plumbing issue. Also, lazy river was closed for a full day. When I texted property management I got no response. Not even an acknowledgement of my communication.

Good location but less than acceptable condo!

The condo is located in the Destin West complex which is nicely maintained, close to the beach and a very family friendly property. The condo unit was another story. The kitchen was very poorly equipped with mismatched supplies that were old and incomplete. The bunk bed was wobbly and upon inspection, we observed stress cracks in the wood frame. Also, there were dirty clothes and food under the bed apparently left by previous guests. The living room furniture was filthy and the sofa cushions worn so they flattened into the sofa bed mattress. The deck furniture seemed about to fall apart, we tightened bolts as best we could without tools and the lounge chairs had no cushions and were gray from the weather. Lastly, there was no airflow in the primary bedroom and the dehumidifier exhausted warm air into the connected bathroom. We made the best of our vacation, but I would not recommend this condo unit until steps are taken to correct the problems.

Few things need repairs and timing of condo

We didn’t get in our condo until 440 when we were supposed to get in at 4. Faucet on kitchen sink broke and they need to update patio set on porch it is wobbly and chairs are broke plus no cushions for white plastic chairs. Also we purchased a wagon you will need to get one to walk to beach. Would be nice to have a grill on patio too. Condo was very nice complex is clean and pools, hot tubs are awesome. We would stay again it was a fantastic vacation.
