Not luxury, not clean, left within hours of arriving
We arrived to a house that had dust, cobwebs, smelled musty, and the temperature inside the house when we left read 79 degrees and 56% humidity. There were multiple hairs and stains on the bedding.We paid extra for an expedited cleaning but did not arrive to a clean house. The pool had major debris in it, holes tunneling under the walkway, numerous ants surrounding the pool and what I presume to be junk (dirty deflated pool toys, cushions, tiki torches, a tarp) stuffed behind a tree. We notified the host that we were leaving and asked for a full refund (we also notified VRBO who told us to wait until VRBO gave us a resolution, we waited longer than the estimated time they gave us but ultimately left before we received a response from VRBO as we had to find other accommodations). We left because we did not feel safe staying in a house that was dirty/musty smelling which could potentially be mold (mold smells musty). The host was initially apologetic and stated he understood. That evening he told me not to worry about things and that he would take care of things on his end as he knew I was unable to cancel or do anything since the check in date/time had passed.I asked host for an update during our reservation period and he never responded until after the reservation period ended stating he planned on giving me a refund but didn’t since I never canceled the reservation.At this time,over a week after we left he has refunded me nothing. VRBO refunded their small service fee.
