Welcome to Flounderin' Around!

Come make our home, your home for the most fabulous family friendly vacation ever! Enjoy the most serene sunrises and sunsets over the canal right out your window and from your decks. Relish in taking the kids fishing, clamming, or crabbing right out your back door on your very own, newly constructed, private dock. Tie up your boat or easily launch a kayak or SUP board (not supplied but can be rented locally) from the dock with a step down ledge or relax on one of the spacious decks found on every level and watch the fish jump or a pelican drop by for a bite to eat.

Our home has 2 master bedrooms each with a queen size bed and a four-piece bathroom with double sinks and jetted garden tub. There are two additional bedrooms with a full Jack-and-Jill bathroom in between the two rooms. One has 2 pair of bunk beds(sleeps 4)and the other bedroom has a single bed over a full size bed (pyramid, can sleep 3). You will find all of the rooms to be spacious and freshly decorated with familiar beach house décor. There is also a brand new outdoor shower with changing area for your convenience. The game room, located downstairs, has a mini fridge and wet bar for your pleasure with a table to do puzzles or play cards. The kitchen has everything you would need to enjoy some tasty meals. Everyone can sit together, as the dining table seats 12. There is also a breakfast bar with 4 seats. An outdoor charcoal grill, for your use, is provided on the ground level. There are also 2 half baths (one off the great room, upstairs and the other off of the game room, on the lower level). Central AC and/or heat is present as well to keep you cool or warm. There is also a washer and dryer for your convenience.

Great house. Great location. Comfortable beds Hot tub was great. Kitchen was well supplied.Some maintenance is needed. Nobody was able to get WiFi working because the listed network wasn't there. The master bedroom on the top floor has a TV but it didn't see anything connected. Cables were there but it was like there was no signal. 2nd floor master jacuzzi tub wouldn't start jets. I would absolutely stay in this house again but at least the WiFi needs to work. I sometimes need it for my profession.

Everything was amazing, the only complaint I have is couldn’t use the hot tub most of the trip because it kept leaking. The hot tub guys kept coming out and said they put stop leak in it, but never fixed it. The hot tub was one of the reason I got the house.

Spring break with family

What an amazing place to stay! We met with family to spend the week together. Plenty of room for everyone inside and out. We started our mornings sitting on the top deck with coffee enjoying how peaceful & beautiful it was. When we weren't out exploring or off fishing the surf we were out back crabbing and fishing from the dock. The water edge was a hit with kids using their nets they brought along to catch small little creatures & observing them before releasing them back. We enjoyed cooking meals together then all being able to sit together at the large table. The kitchen is stocked with everything & I mean everything you could need and then some! Bedding was provided for each bed along with a towels. The owners and even left a nice bag welcome bag for us! I would highly recommend this home for your family vaction! You will not be disappointed!

Not fantastic... just ok

Good location. Allowed early check-in. Arrival gift pack was nice - bottle of wine and some necessities. I booked for 12 people and we had 2 extra rolls of toilet paper provided... when most of the current rolls were about empty. No extra trash bags. Only about 6 forks were there. Hot tub did not work on arrival. Took 3 days to get it partially working. It was not in English, so we couldnt understand the menus. Jets and lights worked for 1 night (15 minutes) and then couldn't get them to work again. A couple cockroaches... not terrible. The 2nd floor master bath had some black spots so those staying in that room weren't comfortable using the jetted tub. Disappointed for the cost we paid for the week since we chose this place primarily for the hot tub against a cheaper place with similar space/location that provided other amentities.

Nice cottage

We enjoyed crabbing off the dock. The house is not far from plenty of public access spots to the beach and sound side. Kitchen was fully stocked with every appliance we could need. The waffle maker was a hit with the kids. Our group appreciated the huge dining room table where we could all sit and eat together. The housekeeping could use some work as we found candy wrappers between the bed and the wall when we were putting sheets on the beds and a couple of roaches. Over all it was a good house for the price for our group and we would stay here again.

Great house for our fishing trip

Overall, this house is great! It was spacious and had plenty of beds and areas to just hangout. We went on a fishing trip with 6 guys and it was perfect. The a/c worked great! The only small issues we had were a few dead cockroaches sitting around, not enough toilet paper, a broken deck chair, and some trash under a couple of the beds. We would not only book this house for another fishing trip, but we would feel confident bringing our families too!

Fun Spring Break Getaway

We had an awesome time at the house. It fit our family perfectly and couldn't ask for more. The house looked just like the listing. The hot tub was nice to get into to unwind after our days out with all the kids. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Thanksgiving at the beach!

We have been lucky enough to stay at this property a handful of times. The owners are incredibly responsive. The house itself is in a great location, quiet neighborhood. All around great place!

Nice stay

Overall our stay was great. The house was clean with the exception of the air fryer and oven. The location was great, loved being on the water! Close to Buxton beach. The owners were nice to work with, very friendly and quick to respond. It was our anniversary and they left us a bottle of wine with a nice note. Super hosts! Now for the not so good. We had no freezer the entire time. It kept freezing shut. We contacted the owners and they said to unplug it for a while. After unplugging it for the third time, we just went out and bought ice for our cooler. This was a major inconvenience for us given we had frozen meat brought from home and we couldn’t get popsicles or ice cream
bummer. The linens provided weren’t great but we brought our own anticipating that. We didn’t use the hot tub because it was way over chlorinated and burned our noses when we lifted the lid, seriously we were coughing it was so bad. The house should have never been rented without a freezer imho. The cleaning company and hot tub company should be addressed by the owners. In any event we did enjoy or stay.

It needs serious maintenance and basic amenities

Let me start with the positives. The location is great. Neighbourhood feels safe. The house is next to a canal which provides awesome views from all the floors. Shops are nearby. Owner/Manager is responsive Now the not so good part. I saw 2 cockroaches in the 1st floor on day 1. Thankfully we were not sleeping on that floor. All the floors were squeaky. On our first night, there was a storm (not very serious kind). But inside the house, everything was shaking like an earthquake. The seals of the balcony doors were gone. So it was so noisy to sleep. Almost all the furnitures are like 15 years old. The sofa has all the dirt of the world. The floors felt sticky throughout. All the outside lights do not work. So you have to have a torch, phone light to navigate outside stairs, as its pitch dark otherwise. I don't know who does this kind of maintenance. In the listing, it said it has a grill. Turns out that its a charcoal grill stand on the outside (just like parks). And did I say, we have to buy all the toiletries? I mean even the hand soaps are not provided. I am not looking for any fancy shampoo or body wash. But atleast the basic toiletries is expected. Even garbage bags were not there to use. We had to buy every damn thing for a two night stay. Bottomline is, bring everything in your trunk. Coz other than linens, NOTHING ELSE IS PROVIDED.
