Condo at Babe's Beach near Galveston Convention Center (C279)

Casa Del Mar 279 is located near the middle of Casa Del Mar on the second floor. Gorgeous Beach and Gulf Views! You will enjoy a cozy, comfortable getaway with easy access to the beach, access to two swimming pools, a barbecue area, and parking (two car maximum, no trailers please).
The property also includes Wi-Fi, Satellite TV, Picnic areas, and coin-operated laundry facilities. You are sure to love this one-bedroom Condo at Babe's Beach. Beautifully redone and appointed open concept living/dining/kitchenette.
The kitchenette includes a full 24" range/oven, refrigerator, dishes, and all cooking utensils for 6 people and is stocked with all the kitchen basics for ease of preparation of meals. The living area features a large leather full-size sleeper sofa, an extra-large flat screen tv, and a dining table and chairs.
The master bedroom features a queen bed, ceiling fan, and a large flat screen tv as well. Just outside in the hall alcove area, you'll find sleeping for the young ones in the Jr size twin bunks. Open the sliding door to the balcony and enjoy the morning sunrise -and fresh sea breeze of Galveston Island! Let the sound of the Gulf waves lull you to sleep.
Hungry for a quick lunch or dinner? You are never far from Galveston's amazing array of restaurants! Many within walking distance.

Check in was a pain. I have stayed here before and we just checked in at the front desk. This time we had to drive 5 miles farther down the road and check in at another office. House was furnished well. NO hot water except for in the sink faucets. To give the baby a bath, had to move water from the sink to the tub. One time during the entire stay hot water came from the tub. I called them to tell them and they were sending someone and wouldn't you know I tried it one more time early morning and it worked. No other time were we able to make hot water work in shower. I feel like it was the shower knob. You could turn it as far to hot as it would go and let it run for a long time and no luck, except the one time. We discussed that it may be that so many were bathing in the evenings, they just ran out of hot water. Sliding door we could not make close and lock properly and were concerned the baby would get outside and climb in a chair to the balcony. All else was fine. Pool was pretty packed most days, but it was nice.

Convenient and efficient

Loved that we could see the beach from the balcony and easily access the beach via a crosswalk. The unit is right off the elevator but there wasn’t a lot of noise. It’s a small space and I wouldn’t recommend it for 4 adults and 2 children, but it was perfect for the two of us.

Needs attention

Location is great! I've stayed in other suites in this complex and they were great. This particular one is stuck in the 70's and needs space attention. Ceilings are peeling and have water stains, the built in microwave is yellow from age and doesn't work, the new microwave was not put in the built in space, but rather sits on the very limited counter space taking up about 30% of it, the toaster over, again taking up 40% of more counter space is broken and wasn't removed given it doesn't work, and the window in the bedroom faces the main hallway of the complex so the light shines in all night long (there are no curtains to block the light). The suite was clean and like I mentioned, location is great. It just needs some TLC.

Great Condo!

My sister and I enjoyed our stay here. The condo was clean, quiet and very comfortable. We were welcomed to a beautifully set dining room table. The property was very nice and the location was perfect. It was such a relaxing trip. We especially enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the evening. The ocean view was beautiful.

Very cute but small condo. Pros: 2 heated pools Ample parking Elevator Cons: No broom or vacuum Tub faucet doesn’t work properly. It’s Either really hot or cold . Low pressure. Left in the cold

Location is great. Rita at check in was the nicest lady but they need to get her some help. We called in daily to ask for someone to come fix the hot water with no resolve. I know she was calling trying to get us help. But none arrived. We We’re told they do not have keys to the owners closet & that’s where the hot water tank is. So we froze. 4 days of ice cold showers. Also, the ad states that the condo sleeps 6. I have 5 adults, 2 Of which are unmarried & tall. They had to sleep together on a very uncomfortable couch bed because the bunks are short & the top one says no one over 100 ponds. I would say this condo can sleep 4 adults & 2 kids max. And only 2 adults will be comfortable in the bedroom. We will not be back to this condo but would absolutely consider this location again.

Awesome place!

Our family had such an awesome time! The condo was beautifully decorated to go along with being at the beach. We were literally right across the street from the beach which was great because we just had to take a short walk. The condo was very clean and the furniture was nice, which is very important. The pool area was kept clean as well and we always saw staff walking around. We had such a great time! So glad we stayed there!
