The view was beautiful, and the property/ house has potential. Unfortunately, thatâs where the positive points end. The bottom room (which I donât think is supposed to be a room) was mold-ridden, not visible, but definitely there as you almost couldnât breathe in there. Unusable, especially for those with asthmatic tendencies. Thatâs 3 beds and a half bath. Then there were fire ants all through the rest of the house, from the time we got there, and they just got worse throughout the week- beds and bathrooms were the worst, so not food related. Then there was the overall appearance. Possible exception to the 4â x 4â patch job that a previous visitor had put in the wall, but apparently could not be properly fixed or covered up. Cabinet door that didnât close, and another that was glued shut crooked. I could continue a list of petty things, because once we were glaring at the first two issues, it was not hard to start noticing all the little stuff. Moving onâŠOutside- fire pit was full of junk and surrounding area was completely overgrown. In fact, it was the only house on the block that had not been mowed in some time. Deck furniture was quickly deteriorating, as evidenced by several still usable pieces and the broken pieces left downstairs, and the pile of broken wood by the trash point. Pool, restaurant, and bar, which seemed to be presented as a closed-community,included amenity, is almost a mile away and the pool requires purchasing day passes.
The nearness to the beachfront and the deck is perfect. We appreciated the immediate response to the issues we called about. More towels were brought to equal the # of guests. However, only 1 tv worked (or we couldn't figure the one in the main bedroom out); there were not enough pillows for the number of guests; the addition of some kitchen items would be great like more big bowls, potato masher, cheese/vege grater, and an upgrade of pans to cook in (the ones available were non-stick and scratched up). I was told I would receive a telephone call to discuss these things but to my knowledge, I did not receive a call.
I read the reviews and got kind of nervous before our stay. Was everything perfect? No, the door was hard to open, the dishwasher didnât wash, there wasnât a sharp knife out of the 30 knives there, the bed in the extra bedroom wasnât great, ants in the kitchenâŠbut itâs a rental, and not my house. We spent most of our time at the beach and that part was amazing!
This was the worst VRBO experience I have ever had. This property should be condemned when we arrived the deck that looks so pristine on the pictures was full of bird poop splinters the cushions on the patio furniture smelled like urine. Thatâs horrible when we entered the downstairs unit it smelled like mold and mildew when we entered the main facilities, mold and mildew and cockroaches we also Experience a stopped up zinc in the downstairs unit we experienced mold and mildew when we lifted the mattress the barbecue pit should be thrown away. We were all traumatized. I had invited 15 members of my family to celebrate Fourth of July and we could not stay in this property now I am working with VRBO and Rice and vacations to get a full refund of Our no stay here I called ahead of time and question the property management company about the property based on the June 11 review and they assured me that everything was taken care of well. It was not. I am really very disappointed. Never had an experience like this and Iâve traveled the world.
Overpriced.Wonderful beachfront location. Beautiful view. House was clean.Issues. There are holes in the walls. Many places the furniture has scraped the walls. There are bent curtain rods. The mattresses are old and worn. The description said there is a charcoal grill avaliable. There is. It's the smallest grill I've ever seen. No way to cook multiple steaks like I planned. We had to go buy a Weber grill. There is also a gas grill that is filthy and hasn't been cleaned in a very long time. The kitchen is lacking many things. The knives are beyond dull. There's no sharpener. No working can opener. No cheese grater. The light over the stove doesn't work. The dishwasher doesn't always work. Bring all your own utensils if you plan to cook.We had to buy toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags. Only enough for two days on a week long stay. With all of that the place felt cheap. I expected better
The room below the main living area was uninhabitable due to a strong smell of mold and dampness. There was a huge air purifier running, which lets me know the owner knows that itâs an issue. This place should not be listed as having that additional room because of this situation. Only the main area which was great is usable. I saw this concern listed in a previous review and was hopeful, it had been taken care of, but it was not. Unfortunately, one of our guests had to leave and return to Houston due to limited space and concern over her allergies being triggered by attempting to stay in that area.
The home is really nice. The large deck had plenty of colorful seating and the view is obviously beautiful. The interior was even nicer than it seemed in the photos. I could tell someone put thought and care into decorating. You can walk or drive to the little convenient store/supermarket as well as the marina restaurant if need be. We did request maintenance on the first day because the washer wasnât draining. Weâd stuck the guest room comforter in there bc it smelled like perfume and didnât realize there was water already in the washer. I tried to drain it, tried to wash it again and drain it, but it didnât drain. The property management company said theyâd sent the request. I reminded them a couple of times during our stay (I was worried about their comforter too), but no one ever showed, which was a bummer bc we also couldnât use the washer. Iâve read bad reviews about this property management company so I wasnât surprised. (That said they were kind on the phone when I had a lock box issue so itâs not everyone who works there). A few things to note: - the downstairs room is detached from the main home. Itâs on the ground level and needs a separate key â in other words donât count that as a room for your young kids unless youâre comfortable with that. - The downstairs room also smells musty/moldy. I wouldnât want to sleep in it tbh. The rest of the home upstairs is lovely and not musty. - The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, plates, cups and pots and pans.
