I love the property and have stayed in different units owned by individuals. However, this unit is owned by Vacasa and the customer service is horrible. The unit does not face the pool like it shows, it actually faces the rv park with a slight view of the beach. The unit itself was nice, beds a little uncomfortable. They do provide enough towels for 8 people and some beach chairs. The problem we had was they offered us late checkout two days BEFORE we were supposed to check out. Who knows if they need it that far in advance? The day we were supposed to check out a storm rolled in so we asked for late checkout and I was told that was no longer available and if we werenât out by 9am we would be LOCKED OUT! The text messages from the agent were extremely rude! The other people staying in individually owned units were allowed to stay until AFTER the storm passed which was only abt an hour after checkout! So my opinion is definitely stay at SeaScape but try and find an individual owned unit!
The condo was fine. A good value for the money and close to the beach. The kitchen was not as well appointed as we are used to with VRBO. We would have liked a normal sized skillet and chopping knife. The main reason for the poor review is the management company. We accidentally left some hang up clothes in our daughter's room from a wedding we had traveled to attend. Vacasa had listed they would charge a $25 fee to ship items back to you. When I reached out to ask if the cleaning company had found our dresses, they said they would only ask or look if we paid a non-refundable $25 fee. The fee is charged whether the items are found or not. This was not clear in the rental agreement and when pushed, the company would not admit it wasn't clear, nor would give me a phone number to call and talk to someone with authority to waive the fee. I have stayed with many VRBO properties and hotels and never run into such a silly fee or unhelpful people. I would be happy to pay a fee on top of shipping but not to even look. This has been such a negative experience that we will make sure we never stay at a Vacasa property again.
