No cups in room. Criticized by staff why I waited to report this at check out. Didn't tell staff we used our water bottles instead. Toilet handle had to be wiggled to stop the water. Had to be happening when staff last cleaned the room. Outside cover fell of room A/C unit in the evening. Evidently no one in staff makes any kind of rounds or responds to issues in plan view. Remodel paint job very poor. Cancelling second reservation for Jan 2026.

The workers were unprofessional and rude. The property was very dirty and had bugs everywhere in the room. The toilet was stopped up when I arrived and dirty. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The pictures on the website were very deceiving. For the price of this hotel, it was not worth it. I had a bad experience.

The only thing going for this hotel is its location. Directly across the street from the beach and just minutes away from Cruise ports. Otherwise run away from this hotel! The staff was rude and unorganized! The room was gross and stinky! The shower curtain was stained and molded! Stay away from The Wingate by Wyndham in Galveston Beachfront at the Seawall!!!

Didn’t like anything. Property needs to just close down . Ac in our room was nosy , sheets / blankets stained . Cups for drinks are so tiny . I had a shot of coffee not a cup . There just trying to keep doors open and they need to shut down . I will never stay at a Wyndham again. FYI. You have to pay an extra $35 to check in early and $15 to park your car !!! I can’t believe this is not illegal.

Wingate at beachfront

Wingate is located at the Galveston beach front and beach is easily accessibe and the property is very close to the Pier. Hotel room was clean and suited for the family stay. There is an additional parking fee which I did not notice at the time of booking.

One of the worst hotels in America

From the poor experience at check-in taking over 40 minutes, to argue with the management about payment. To the dirty exterior of the hotel. To the dirty interior of the room. To not being able to sleep due to the AC unit making the most horrible rattling noise every time it turned on. This hotel should be taken off your list. I wouldn’t advise anyone to stay here. It might be worth $20 a night if you’re darn close to homeless. No one at the hotel speaks English from the front desk, staff, to the housekeeping people, etc. The Breakfast Was the worst display I’ve experienced in 37 weeks of travel. The coffee was the absolute worst. Apparently no one in the hotel knows how to make coffee management would be disputing my credit card charge. He said he wouldn’t offer anything. I did take videos, with sound of the AC unit, and why am my family of four could not sleep but it won’t let me upload videos. I do have them in case anyone wants to see them. PATHETIC!

OK, but...

Exterior and rooms finished nicely. However, plumbing (bathtub leaked), ice machine became inaccessible, only front desk staff spoke English, no bath mat or hand towels in room (until requested) and breakfast was 100% carbs (and poor quality). Good value for overnight stay
