Sunset Retreat is an amazing waterfront condo on Galveston Bay in Pointe West!

This luxurious 3 bedroom, 3 bath, relaxing bay side condo has fantastic unobstructed views of the bay, and is only a short, quick drive by car or golf cart to the beach and the Pointe West Beach Club. Features a modern, fully equipped kitchen, free WIFI, PS3 game console with games, HD cable TV and a large flat screen TV in the living room. There is a queen size bed in the Master Bedroom, queen size bed in guest room, bunk beds (with a trundle) and two queen size sleeper couches to accommodate your family. The unit has all your linens for your stay, as well as a full-size washer and dryer to clean your clothes after a day at the beach or pools. Located on Red Fish Cove, enjoy wade fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and crabbing right from your vacation backyard. Bring your camera, sit back and enjoy the bird sanctuary from the large private balcony featuring picture perfect sunsets every evening. The balcony is accessible from both the master bedroom or the living room and has plenty of seating for everyone. Leave your worries at home when you come to your Sunset Retreat!

When you stay in a Bay to Beach Rental Property, all you need to bring is your clothes, beach towels/chairs, sunscreen, food and you! We provide paper towels, toilet paper, large & small trash bags, dish soap, dishwasher pods, laundry pods, fabric softener sheets, hand soap, coffee, coffee filters, shampoo, body wash, and basic spices in each unit.

Pointe West is an exclusive resort community on the western tip of Galveston Island. The beaches are clean, groomed regularly and closed to vehicular traffic. The main clubhouse has a beautiful infinity edge pool, hot tub, kid’s pool, cabanas, grills, gift shop, workout facility with lockers and a game room. The Sunset Pool on the bayside has a small lazy river, hot tub, fire pit, gas and charcoal grills for the guests use during their stay. Enjoy the pool bar and restaurant, Smore's by the Sunset Pool, kid's crafts, Dive-in Movies and live entertainment. (We will send you the activity schedule upon booking your vacation or you can check the Pointe West Beach Club website for times/dates).

Golf carts, kayaks and paddleboards are available for rent from local island vendors. Please ask us we have information on these items and other things you may want to rent when visiting Pointe West.

You are only approximately 30 minutes from downtown Galveston (The Strande), Schlitterbahn, Moody Gardens, Pleasure Pier and all the other great attractions of Galveston. Major grocery stores are located 20 minutes away so we recommend guests stop on their way in so they never have to leave their vacation getaway!

WRISTBAND POLICY
The Property Owners Association (POA) at Pointe West collects a wristband fee of $25 per guest for each guest over the age of 4 (children younger than 4 do not pay) for use of the Beach Club and Sunset Pools during your stay at Pointe West. This is a onetime fee during your stay, not a daily fee. No wristbands are required to enjoy the beautiful beaches at Pointe West this fee is only for use of pools, fitness center, and other amenities. A reservation has been made in your name for your rental period at Pointe West. The wristbands are available at the Beach Club reception every day during business hours (9-5 off season, 9-6 peak season). The physical address for the Beach Club is 4161 Pointe West Drive, Galveston, TX. 77554. You do not have to purchase a wristband to enjoy the restaurant/bar at Pointe West. Your reservation will allow you to receive a temporary band to enjoy this business amenity.

THE SUNSET POOL ON THE BAYSIDE OF POINTE WEST IS HEATED FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT YEAR-ROUND. THE BEACH CLUB POOL IS NOT HEATED AS IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP AN INFINITY POOL WARM. BOTH POOLS HAVE LARGE HOT TUBS FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT.

The location of the condo provides awesome views! A very large porch looks out over the bay. The neighborhood is quiet. Both pools and the beach are nearby.The condo was spacious (5 adults), very comfortable and exceptionally clean. Linda and MaryAlice are exceptional (responsive) hosts from beginning to end. They arranged an early check-in for our holiday weekend.Perfect in every way!We will most definitely be back again!

My review

The property was nice, however, website was misleading and should have stated that the amenities (pools) had an additional charge (25 per person). No deadbolt on main door which allowed kids to open the door from the inside. Clothes dryer knobs broken. Dishes in cupboard were dirty. Killed four roaches in 3 days. Dirt and dust under beds. Pots and pans need to be replaced. Beautiful views and plenty of space. Nice but room for improvement.

Perfect for a girls trip!

The condo was very convenient for our group of 5 adult women. We appreciated getting away and not having to share beds. Enough bathrooms to accommodate all of us getting ready. The Pointe West complex was great as we liked the pools better than the sand. The beach access and pool access was great, enough parking that we could easily drive (in the heat) to get where we needed to go. Definitely take your bug spray though!

Relaxing Vacation

The rental was very nice and comfortable. We loved that we could all relax in the living room to watch movies and there was a big dining room table right there to work a jigsaw puzzle on. Watching the sunset over the bay was beautiful in the evenings. We would definitely go back!

Great recharge

This property was clean and stocked and the owners were very responsive. Plenty of space for our family to spread out and our morning coffee on the balcony was just what we needed. Lots of choices for beach access and the pool was nice and clean.

The property is very well stocked and great for a family. The location is exactly what we were looking for, not busy but having access to the beach and pools. MaryAlice and Linda communicate quickly and promptly to ALL messages. I would highly recommend this condo.

Annual Get Together for our Growing Family

This is our third time staying at Pointe West and second time at this condo. It’s great for families and offers a lot of space and convenience next to the beach. There were a couple of issues that we discovered once there (the water line to the ice maker was frozen and the dryer didn’t want to turn on) but the property managers were quick to respond to them. Overall, this was an awesome place for our annual beach get together with our growing family. They even left a pac n play so we didn’t have to bring two.

Awesome views of Galveston Bay! Clean, comfortable and spacious.

We had a great stay for Father’s Day Weekend at Sunset Retreat! The unit was everything we wanted and fit our family perfectly. We really enjoyed hanging out on the expansive balcony which overlooks Galveston Bay, the views here are amazing. We ventured out into Galveston Bay a few times with the kids and enjoyed getting our feet wet. Bring your pole if you enjoy fishing as the water is calm and you can wade out a few hundred yards if you want. The pool at the beach club is huge and nice as always. Linda and Mary Alice are great hosts and were very accommodating. We look forward to returning soon.

Great Stay and Place

This was our second time staying in Pointe West but first time at this condo. Everything was fantastic! Loved all the towels and kitchen assesories. All that we needed was there. Very Nice stay

This place was very nice had everything you could ever need. It is a little way away from the main beach area but that was fine with me. Bring some off the mosquitos are horrible.
