Leccio Del Corno - Five Bedroom Villa, Sleeps 10
Leccio Del Corno is located in the beating heart of Tuscany in central Italy, a short distance from some of the most famous towns and cities such as Florence, Pisa, San Gimignano, and Volterra. Its great position makes it an ideal base from which to explore this region.
Inside the lovely holiday home, you can find wooden ceiling beams, pale terracotta tiles and a modern, fully-equipped kitchen. All five bedrooms are designed with minimalism, with large double or twin beds and wardrobes. In addition, the entire property boasts high ceilings, light colours contrasting with the wooden beams overhead and the occasional antique armoire.
Outside, there is a majestic pool, and it’s clear why guests love spending most of their time here. Soak up warm sun rays on one of the sun loungers and tuck into a good book whilst enjoying the sweet melody of birds nestled in the surrounding trees. The pool will be sure to keep both adults and children entertained. This property has a charming rural ambience, from the covered outdoor dining area to the rear terraces and the garden’s terraced surface, presenting plenty of options for al-fresco meals.
In less than 10 minutes by car, you can discover the charming local village Castelfiorentino, which has a fantastic array of amenities, such as bars, restaurants, family-owned cafés and shops, as well as a theatre and a small boutique museum with frescoes.
Fancy a change of scenery? In just 30 minutes, you can be walking around winding paths in the mediaeval town of San Gimignano. Its Porta San Giovanni is an imposing stone gate from the 13th century, with an external segmental arch and a guardroom which would interest history lovers. Other towns such as Pienza, Vinci and Monteriggioni are also a comfortable driving distance away.
You’ll love being so close to Tuscany’s famous cities, such as Florence, Pisa and Siena. Notably, Florence is renowned worldwide for its Renaissance architecture and metropolitan feel, and it’s known to be one of the most beautiful places to visit in Europe.
Pisa, with its famous leaning tower, is also just an hour’s drive away. Apart from the majestic building that reaches 56.67 metres on the highest side, the city is a gem for foodies, full of restaurants serving delicious Italian dishes alongside superb wine and desserts, including tiramisu and first-class gelato.
After an entire day exploring Tuscany’s cities, you’ll love returning to your comfortable abode. You can recharge with family and friends before setting off for another adventure the next day.
Please note that Leccio Del Corno is actually located in the region of Tuscany but is very close to the San Gimignano border.

Location:
Nestled in Tuscany and surrounded by gorgeous countryside, this cosy holiday home is a fantastic base for those wishing to enjoy tranquillity, sunshine and fresh air.
The cute local village of Castelfiorentino is only a 10-minute drive away, boasting a number of amenities as well as restaurants and cafés, perfect for an afternoon stroll or a quick stop on your way to other activities. The closest restaurant is a 5-minute drive away, and a supermarket can be found less than a 10-minute drive away, should you need to stock up on essentials. Other nearby towns include Gambassi Terme (5km), Montaione (10km) and Certaldo (15km).
Outside the holiday home, you can find a winery hosting wine-tasting experiences and tours, ideal for spending a couple of hours learning interesting facts about wine production in the region. This area is well known for its vineyards, so there are plenty more to discover; some of them allow you to take strolls through their sun-kissed slopes overflowing with wild lavender and grape vines.
For another great day trip, head to the hilltop town of San Gimignano, a 30-minute drive away. Encircled by 13th-century walls, its old town centres on Piazza della Cisterna, a triangular square lined with mediaeval houses which will take you back in time. The skyline of mediaeval towers, including the stone Torre Grossa, is worth admiring, while the 12th-century church filled with frescoes Duomo di San Gimignano is a prominent historic landmark you shouldn’t miss either. Nearby, you could also travel a short section of the famous Via Francigena, one of the oldest and most popular pilgrim itineraries in Europe, stretching from Canterbury to Rome.
Spend a day strolling around Florence’s romantic streets and alleyways, soaking up the history and enjoying the romantic vibe. The city is bursting with Renaissance buildings and admirable architecture, including the Ponte Vecchio bridge, Basilica of Santa Croce, Palazzo Vecchio, Uffizi Gallery and the 13th-century Cathedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore. There’s a vibrant restaurant scene, with splendid Italian bistros and restaurants serving the best of Italian gastronomy.
Tuscany’s vibrant coastline can be reached in just one hour by car if you prefer to spend a day kicking back in the sand. Many cities and villages line the shores, and excellent sandy spots can be discovered as you drive. Near Pisa, you can find Spiaggia della Lecciona, a beach backed by a pine forest and a wildlife park Spiaggia di Vecchiano, for example. If you fancy an educational trip, why not head to the Villa Puccini Museum. Here the life and work of Puccini are celebrated in his former elegant lakeside house right next to the Lago di Massaciuccoli.
Livorno is known for its cruise ship port, with ferries setting sail to surrounding islands such as Corsica and Sardinia, as well as its seafood and Renaissance-era fortifications and modern harbour. It’s also home to various markets selling everything from vintage wear to fresh produce and baked goods. Notably, Mercato Delle Vettovaglie is housed in a 19th-century building by Angiolo Badaloni and is well-frequented by locals.
Please note that Leccio Del Corno is actually located in the region of Tuscany but is very close to the San Gimignano border.
