This hotel was old and worn out. I would have been ok with that if the description and photos had not been so misleading. Many of the pieces of furniture in the photos did not exist. The beds were not comfortable, one you rolled into the center and struggled to get out of. The linens and bedding were cheap and rough. The darkout curtains were full of holes. The only good thing was the bar next door. They were nice and didn't get noisy.
Our room's smoke alarm went off and the hotel staff helped us take it out, but it already scared my kids. Also, my parents' room was wreaked of the smell of smoke (previous guests must have been smoking in the room).
Hidden gem, nestled in redwood country. It doesnât look it fro the outside but this was a cool hotel to stay the night during my travels south from the PNW.
it's looks old building. But room is clean and amenities are good! Just I want to Desk, but it's not big deal. Front staff is so friendly, clean room, No complain!
Made reservation a month ahead. Not many choices on the south end of the redwoods. Picked by positive reviews and Expediaâs description. Arrived around 8 pm. Office was dark and property not well lighted. Vacancy sign lit the way. The man who checked us in was friendly, but think we may have gotten him out of bed. The ârestaurantâ next door is a full blown bar with drunks and ruckus on a Wednesday night. Walls are thin and can hear other travelers conversations, and assume they heard us. The poor person above us used the bathroom frequently all night long. The room had been updated and generally clean. The walls and baseboards could use some wiping down and/or a fresh coat of paint. Easy check out.
If you want to head to the redwoods on a Saturday night with a happening bar next door to really let loose then this is the place for you! This neat little roadside motel was just right for an affordable layover, nice manager, beds ok, spacious room, but did we not anticipate the trumping from the barâs house music until late into the night which was not for us. We had to be up at 6am for a race so this was a bummer. Maybe other nights of the week would be more peaceful.
The stay started off with being told I was required to pay a fee for my LEGITIMATE service dog because, âWe just charge for all dogs, it doesnât matterâ Well, according to federal ADA guidelines, it DOES matter and you, sir, have now had a complaint filed with the ADA and DOJ. Aside from that, the noise levels are off the charts, people socializing in the parking lot at all hours, and an overall sketchiness to the entire area. After not sleeping well due to all of the above, I woke in the morning to find ants crawling all over my very carefully sealed up food, going up and down the electrical cords and all around the coffee pot (I have photos but no place to upload them for this review). To be clear, I never leave comments but this experience was just too much. I highly recommend staying far, far away from this place - especially if your medical needs require your service dog to travel with you.
We didn't have a lot of choices in the area but lucked out taking a chance on this one! Not a looker from the outside but the staff lives onsite and were very friendly. The room was comfortable and extremely clean. There is a bar next door that serves food until midnight too so that is a plus for such a remote area
