Room was good and clean. I had 2 reservations. I checked in on Sunday and it was smooth. The guy who did my check in was very nice and helpful. He told me that I do not need to change room and I can stay in the same room all stay. He told me to come down before 12pm on Monday and re-check in my room keys. On Monday morning after breakfast I went to the reception and there was one lady. I asked her to re-check in my room keys because I have two reservations. She took my keys, scanned it and gave it back to me. So I went back to my room. Around 11:30 cleaning lady knocked and asked if I need service, I said no. Then she asked if I am checking out, I replied no, I have another 2 nights to stay, she left. Around 1:30 my phone room rang and the same lady from reception asked me if I am going to check out. I said no, I have another 2 nights to stay. She said that I have to check out and then check in again, that I have to bring my ID and credit card. I told her that the guy who did my check in on Monday did not mention anything abut ID and credit card, he told me only to re-check my keys and that is it, which I did. I told her that you did it for me in the morning, she did not remember. So, I went down with my keys, ID and credit card and asked her why is there misunderstanding. She apologized and re-checked in. I was so annoyed because she could have checked my keys in the morning when I asked her to re-check in. I came to stay for the bar exam and wanted to have peace stay.

Formal Complaint – Unsafe Room Conditions and Staff Response During Blizzard Stay Date: 2/22/23 Dear Guest Relations, I am writing to formally report a serious issue that occurred during our stay at the Hampton Inn Garden City in Garden City, New York. During our stay, the heat in the room was extremely hot and could not be fixed even after maintenance attempted to address it. The temperature became so uncomfortable that I began experiencing physical symptoms, including a nosebleed, headache, and feeling lightheaded. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, we were told that if we wanted to move to another room, we would have to pay an upgrade fee of $45. This was very concerning given that the issue was not caused by us and was affecting my health. At the time, there was also a blizzard outside, which made the situation even more difficult and unsafe. We waited to speak with the manager on duty, Brandon, but unfortunately the interaction was not helpful. He was rude, uncooperative, and did not appear concerned about the situation or our well-being. Additionally, the breakfast options were limited to pork-based items (including the eggs), and there were no alternative accommodations offered. Because of the conditions and lack of assistance, we ultimately had to leave the hotel during the blizzard, which should never have been necessary.

The front desk staff were pleasant and informative. The room we stayed in was dated and had a stale odor when you walked in for the first time. I've stayed at the newer Hampton Inns, one located in Massachusetts and the rooms were up to date. Breakfast was the standard H.I. fare. Overall, it was a place to lay your head down for the night, but if you're picky about hotels, skip this particular H.I.

The room was extremely hot I thought maybe they turned the temperature up due to blizzard come to find out the hvac system in the room was not working they couldn’t change our room and only offered for us to pay to change the room they sent two different maintenance men to our room who couldn’t fix the system we called back to the front they said wait until morning to speak with a manager the manager got nasty with us very rude and couldn’t do anything about rectifying our situation will not stay again mangers name is Brandon Warner when we say we will report the issue to corporate he refused to give us the name of the first manager who tried to upcharge us

Check in staff was very friendly. Bathroom was a bit dark, dusty, dingy. Everything else was ok. Just a bit dated. Breakfast was good, but staff struggled to keep things like the milk, waffle batter, etc. refilled. We stay at Hamptons all the time and this one was just ok.
