Solid Stay 8-minutes outside Yellowstone

We had a nice stay in Gardiner at the Yellow Basin Inn, it was located about an 8 min. drive outside of the main part of town, and the arch by the North Entrance of Yellowstone (our reason for visiting). We did struggle a bit with the internet service, which was not great, and the beds were a little tough, but the views outside the hotel were beautiful, it was quiet, the breakfast was solid, and it was clean.

Gardiner is a decaying town with very little in the way of good restaurants or other amenities. This property was unquestionably the best option there but it is at least 5 miles out of town and there is nothing near it. The daily breakfast was nice but no other food is available on site at any time. Sadly, our room was small and on the second floor with a set of steep stairs to go up. We referred to it as Grandma's Attic space. Our friends room was a bit larger with space to move around and put suitcases. Overall, for Gardiner, we were glad we were in this property, but it is closer to a 2 star lodging than 3.

Great place just north of the tourist town of Gardiner. We had the Big Sky room. It was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and got us nourished for our long hikes in Yellowstone, just a short drive away.

Delightful spot just outside Yellowstone

We really enjoyed our stay! The room was beautiful, spacious and clean. It was very close to Gardiner, but had the peace of being just outside. The owner was very friendly and gave some good dining recommendations. The breakfasts in the morning set us up well for the day. It was a perfect spot for accessing Yellowstone while not being too far from Bozeman airport - exactly what we were looking for

We loved this spot! Such a beautiful option for traveling to Yellowstone from the North. We didn’t end up taking advantage of breakfast in order to get an earlier start in the park but otherwise everything was exactly as described on the website. Our one wish was a wifi booster. I’m sure it’s not their fault but it was hard to get even a map loaded up, so just be aware that it might be tricky if you’re hoping to share photos, stream, make a purchase online, etc. that it wasn’t possible for us. Highly recommend for the views, quiet environment, and very good theming!
