The River House was built in 1948 and offers three bedrooms and two newly remodeled baths with all modern amenities. The house has been meticulously maintained. The style of the home Mid-Century meets 1960s chic. The chef's kitchen is newly remodeled and highly functional. This is pristine riverside living at its best.

The sights and sounds of the beautiful Smith River are at your doorstep. There are many hiking trails close by on the middle and north forks of the river as well as the virgin Redwood forests of Jedidiah Smith State Park after whom both the park and river were named.

The River House is a great place to unwind. It is a retreat from the rigors of everyday life and a rare opportunity to take stock of nature’s pristine abundance.

Place was nice and had everything there to use. We had a great stay, all though we weren't there during the daytime cause we were fishing Great fishing by the way! We did notice long hairs on the toilet seat that when we came back and felt like someone was there while we were gone. (weird...) besides that great place.

Three friends came to bask in the beauty of the redwoods and this house felt more like a home. Beautiful quiet location. Private rooms for each of us and a dream kitchen for us to cook in. Loved our stay in this home directly over the Smith River. We used to own the house, so it was a very sentimental visit. You you can hear the water run over the short stretch of rapids below the back patio. A very low key area, so pure relaxation. Not much to do in the area, so you have to be into the river and enjoying friends, as we did. Be sure to do your grocery shopping in Crescent City!!

It was a very nice home with a wonderful deck overlooking the Smith river. The kitchen was well stocked and very convenient, and the bedrooms were great. Our only complaint was the furniture in the living room. It was too modern and just not very comfortable.

Our stay was a 103 birthday celebration for my mother. All of us enjoyed the deck and river view tremendously. We all had to be careful walking to the front door because of the loose and uneven stepping stones.

We had a really nice stay. We hung out on the beautiful deck for quite some time listening to the river rushing by. There were a couple of nice swimming holes that we visited, and the access to the redwoods was excellent.
