Summary:

Nestled on the shores of Tar Bay on Great Exuma along a 5-mile, secluded beach is the newly renovated White Palm Villa.



With 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms spread across 1800 sq/ft, and a large beach-front patio for taking in the sun and the sounds of the ocean, you are in a perfect island paradise. You can spend hours walking the beach without seeing a soul.



Located only a 5 min drive from the airport and 15 minutes from George Town, everything you need for your Exuma stay is at your fingertips.



The Space:

As you enter the house you are greeted with the large living room/dining room and floor to ceiling windows with stunning views of the ocean.



The kitchen is to your right as you walk in. The first bedroom is located on the front side of the property with the other two having ocean-facing views. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom.



Off the sitting room onto the patio you can BBQ, lounge and enjoy the tranquility of the islands.



There is parking for 4 cars in the recently landscaped lot.



The Neighborhood:

We are off the Queen's Highway, the main road that runs through Great Exuma. The house is right on the beach and there is no noise from the traffic on the beach side.



Getting Around:

Renting a car is the best option



Other Things to Note:

Bunk bed is double over full.

Great Bungalow

We had a short layover on Exuma before flying home and this house was perfect for us! We had great beach walks, grilled, the grocery was super close as was the airport. The only feed back I would give is that the back door handle needs maintenance, the owner was very communicative about it and sent someone over to look at it. The breeze was wonderful, but the water was rough for swimming. Overall we had a great stay.

Overpriced for a house that’s falling apart literally

The location is good as it is right in front of tar bay (although always extremely windy and hard to swim) but the house is neglected and old and NOT WORTH the price they charge for it! There are other newer properties with pools that are just a bit more but worth it more than this house. Door handles are literally falling off, there are no screens for flies and mosquitoes. Flies are everywhere as the garbage is right in front of the house and when we cooked the fly swarms would literally get on the door of the house and they would crawl through all the holes that this house has! It was disgusting! This place is NOT worth your money!

Room with a View

We enjoyed our stay at White Palm Villa, the view was fantastic! Unfortunately due to the strong winds we really were able to enjoy the beach at the house. The bed was very comfortable and the main living area was nice. A few suggestions would be to have folding beach chairs for use at other beaches and kayaks would be nice. I've stayed at similarly priced homes in the area that included such amenities. Overall the view from your room and the stretch of beach it is located on make it a nice place to call home for your trip.

Perfect House right on the beach!

This house was perfect for our stay on Exuma! The house was so clean, well decorated and perfectly located on the island. The house had amazing views of the ocean with just a few steps down to the beach. For the days we were there, it felt like we had the beach all to ourselves as we never saw anyone else. Communication with host was great and we had everything we needed. Be aware that the grocery stores close at 6pm, so make sure you get there in time! We loved our stay in this house and will be back again!

Fantastic Stay at White Palm Villa

We really enjoyed our stay at White Palm Villa. The property location was great, super convenient for getting to places on the Island. The house itself was really nice, outstanding views and very comfortable. The beach with beautiful Bahamian colors was fantastic. We all enjoyed happy hours on the back patio and the kids loved the outdoor shower. Thanks for a great stay!

Amazing location and comfortable property

House was close to the airport and a quick drive to the markets. The location was amazing right on the sand and blue waters. There was a small reef directly in front of the home that provided fun snorkeling. Very clean, spacious bedrooms, and comfortable beds. Host was immediately responsive such as a notification that the grill propane was low. An extremely friendly woman was there in minutes to replace it. Love this house and the quiet beach!!

Property was just okay. No chairs, kayaks, skorkel equipment included. Overall very dated and marginally cared for. Like if you got all the contents from a yard sale. Tar bay is nice location and beach. Fees and service charge add $$$ to the nightly fee.

Location, Location, Location

Tar Bay is the best place to stay on the island. There is a beautiful long white sand beach for daily walks. There are several grocery stores within a 5-10 minute drive and the water is clear and beautiful - perfect for floating! The house is an older house but is well maintained and has everything you need in the kitchen. It was clean and really appreciated having a washer and dryer for our use complete with detergent so we didn't have to buy our own. We had a few very minor issues and the owner and the property manager responded quickly. You will need to rent a car but that it true pretty much of anyplace on Exuma. A great stay.

Christmas Gifts!

We all decided to take this trip instead of giving “things” for Christmas. We had such beautiful, memorable, fun adventures on the islands. This house met all of our needs and allowed all six of us to have time together and space apart, if needed. We cooked some meals, ate out others, and found beachfront bars/grills to enjoy. Love this time of year on the islands without all of the summer crowds!

White Palm Villa is a great relaxing time!

First time in Exuma for this family of 5 and we had a wonderful time thanks to our home base and host at White Palm Villa! Communication was very easy and efficient from booking until our departure. Everything was just as explained to us in preparation and the location was perfect for us. Talk about right on the beach!! One concern we had before arriving was the beach not being as private as we’d hope but were happily surprised it was a very secluded beach the days we were there. Only saw about 2-3 people walk in from of the house on the beach the whole time. The island as a whole was a great experience too. It is so laid back, it may be a turn off how slow service could be but we chose to embrace the slow and relax along with the service:-). One particular event was a tire blowout we experienced after falling into one of the MANY potholes. Within 8 seconds a local man in his 20’s? stopped and changed our tire for us. He was ‘so embarrassed’ of their streets he kept apologizing for the island and has us on our way within 10 minutes. That was a microcosm of our experience with the Bahamian people, absolute sweetness. The nicest people as a whole we’ve ever met. They will be THE reason we come back to Exuma again. Thanks Sandy!

Such a pleasant experience

The property was perfect for our family. It is literally on the beach. My children loved coming and going out to the water at their own leisure. The porch outside has plenty of seating to enjoy the exquisite view. One of the best parts of the house is the outdoor shower. Everyone took full showers outside. It was wonderful. The inside is great too! Comfortable beds and plentiful seating. The a/c works very well as does the internet. We are already making plans to visit again.

Exuma vacation

The location of the house is great. The beach is amazing, which is why we go. There is a reef right out front with good snorkeling. The house itself needs updating, especially the living room furniture. The kitchen was also stained and dirty. Those things did not detract from the amazing beach but if we go back we’ll find another house on tar bay.

Loved our time on Tar Bay!

Our family of four ( kids aged 9 and 13) had a wonderful time at White Palm Villa - gorgeous beach and house had everything we needed. Very clean, comfy beds, incredible views. Loved the outdoor shower!! Enjoyed our morning and evening beach walks. Great location - easy access to all the fun on the Island. Property owners and manager were friendly and responsive. We’ll be back!!

Private Central location

This is a private centrally located house. I went for a jog on the beach and saw probably 10 people in 6 miles around the house. When we went down to check out Tropic of Cancer beach, that wasn't nearly as private. It isn't super protected by outer cays/islands, so if there is weather coming in, the ocean out front can be a little wavier, but not too bad. The beds were very comfortable and it was outfitted well. The patio out back was great and the views are great from the living room and main bedrooms. Plus we lucked out and there were a couple coconuts that we could pick up in the yard and drink from!

Fantastic Beach House!

White Palm Villa is a little gem of a beach house in a fantastic location! With three generously sized bedrooms and a huge great room, it was the perfect house for us. Morning and afternoon walks on the beach and gorgeous ocean swims, reading leisurely on the comfy lounge chairs on the terrace, and BBQing dinner and watching a Netflix movie, it was a wonderful week in a well appointed house.

Great stay in Exuma. The property is on a gorgeous and basically private beach. It's centrally located, Smitty's convenience is nearby and has almost everything you need. Owner is quick to respond. Super comfortable bed in the master!

This was a very comfortable home, with cozy beds. AC was cool, furniture clean and kitchen well equipped. Location was 2-3 miles from airport and halfway between northern beaches and George Town, so great location. All in all great experience!!
