Christine and Jay are wonderful hosts at their beautiful home in GumboLimbo Jungle. Every guest is treated like family and they provide endless helpful tips for visitors. Food was fresh and tasty, drinks cold, and conversation plentiful! A great place to stay in Cayo!
If you're seeking a serene escape that seamlessly blends the tranquility of the wild with the luxury of a top-notch resort, look no further! This hidden gem offers everything you could desire for a perfect getaway.
From the moment you arrive, the exceptional service stands out. The staff is genuinely dedicated to ensuring that every guest has an unforgettable experience. They go above and beyond, making you feel welcomed and cared for throughout your stay.
The accommodations are nothing short of spectacular. Each room is beautifully designed, providing the perfect balance of comfort and elegance. Youâll find all the amenities you need to feel pampered while still being surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of nature.
One tip: be sure to bring insect repellent! The resort's location in the wild means you'll encounter some friendly critters, but with a little preparation, you can fully enjoy the stunning surroundings without a hitch.
Overall, this resort is a perfect choice for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature without sacrificing luxury. Highly recommended!
My husband and I truly enjoyed our 4 nights at Gumbo Limbo. Itâs a nature-lovers paradise, but so much more. Our honeymoon cabana was spacious with a comfortable bed and linens to die forâŠthe bathroom was large and everything was well-appointed and clean. It was luxury jungle living without any pretentiousness. The grounds and pool area are truly exquisiteâ and though Christine, the host, would say there is so much more they want to do with the property, I would argue at this affordable price pointâ Gumbo Limbo is absolutely perfect just the way it is.
This was our first trip to Belize with our primary goal to experience the amazing Mayan ruins and get a quick taste of the San Ignacio areaâ we did that and look forward to a return trip (staying at Gumbo Limbo) where we can do a deeper dive into the culture.
Thank you, Christine, Jay and staffđ
Gorgeous views. The owners live on site and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. They also recommended a great local tour company (Belize Nature Travel). The food was delicious. Highly recommend.
I went to Belize by myself but I never felt alone. Jay & Christine (and the guests) were all so incredibly friendly.
We convened nightly fur dinner, drinks, and conversation. I would return to this resort again & again! A car is definitely needed to stay at the resort and for exploring the local area.
Property was very beautiful in all aspects, from the owners being very attentive, to the landscape and peace and quiet feel. Christine provided guidance on transportation which was very helpful! Definitely recommend this location.
We had a wonderful stay! Christine and Jay were so kind and helpful. We enjoyed an evening looking at the stars with them. Food and drinks were fantastic! This is a very peaceful place to take in the jungle views and enjoy the sky. Would return to stay here without a second thought.
Excellent hosts! We arrived late in the evening for a 1-nught stay. The property was clean, the bedroims were clean and the beds were very comfortable.
As nice as the property was, the real treat was the hosts. They were exceptionally friendly, kind, and hospitable.
The banana bread and fruit for breakfast was delicious!
We will definitely be back!
Gumbo Limbo is a true oasis tucked into the jungle! Our family of five couldn't have been happier to have stayed there. The owners and hosts, Christine and Jay are an absolute pleasure. The property itself is immaculate and well appointed. Their commitment to sustainability and eco-tourism is greatly appreciated. It's obvious they care about the community around them and doing what they can to be good stewards of the land and resources of Belize. The property is a perfect jump off spot for countless adventures in the immediately surrounding area. You could easily stay here for months and not do the same thing twice.
The grounds are beautiful and the Belizean stewed chicken and homemade ice cream were awesome! As well as Jay and Chris were very attentive hosts, great people.
This lodge is owned and operated by a super nice couple who go out of their way to make things great for the guests, including helping our young teens machete up some coconuts they found out hiking. It has a VERY convenient location near San Ignacio and many things to do (our favorites include the Rio Frio River sites like the caves and pools).
Our stay (2nd one) at Gumbo Limbo was AWESOME! We went with our two adolescent boys - family room was awesome with three beds. Pool was great, awesome hammocks for reading, a jungle trail to enjoy the f & f... boys went tarrantula hunting with the owner at twilight - the pool was great...amazing views and the food hit the spot everytime. Loved it and plan to go back!!
Loved staying here! Christine and Jay were amazing hosts and helped us out so much. Even before we got there, Christine reached out and gave so much info and help. The property was very nice and we loved staying there.
