BEAUTIFUL BASQUE HOUSE WITH MAGNIFICENT VIEWS.

Lazkano-enea is a pretty and simple house that reminds us of the typical houses of Iparralde (French Basque Country). It has a capacity for 10 people divided into two floors. It has a kitchen-dining room, 5 spacious bedrooms, 4 complete bathrooms, one of them adapted for people with physical disabilities and two spacious living rooms with a fireplace. The house, surrounded by fruit trees and lush vegetation typical of the area, is on the same Santiago Way.



Located on Mount Santa BĂĄrbara, on the same Cantabrian coastline, its location offers magnificent views of Getaria, as well as an exceptional panoramic view of the sea. Its rural setting in the midst of nature invites us to enjoy the vineyards from which the local white wine, Txakoli, is extracted.

We really enjoyed our stay here and it was centralized to everything we did. The grandkids enjoyed the game room and pool and we all enjoyed the hot tub. The pool turned green after it rained but the host was very prompt about getting it serviced within an hour of being notified. We would definitely stay here again if we came back to the area.

Amazing views in the Basque Country

Our family (6 adults and 1 child) stayed for three nights in April 2025. Hosts greeted us and house was just as beautiful in person. The fact that almost each bedroom had its own bathroom was amazing for our group. We spent the night exploring the adorable town and made easy day trips to San Sebastián and Bilbao. Our needs while there were immediately met and hosts were very quick to respond to any questions. Would absolutely recommend. We stayed in two hotels and one other house during our two week trip and this was everyone’s favorite.

Bravo!

We had the most amazing time at the “Beautiful Basque House.” Amaia and Neil gave us a folder with maps and a few recommendations for restaurants around Getaria/San Sebastián. Everything was sparkling clean cosy yet very fresh and the view was spectacular. When (not if) we come back to the Basque Country, we will most definitely stay with them again!!

A beautiful home & porch with the most amazing view of the bay & Getaria! Decorations were wonderful & beds very comfortable. Amaia was next door to help us with needs, including loaning us a cooler for the market & arranging services of a Chef who prepared us a truly spectacular meal our last evening. You will want a car as you can travel to town for dinners (park free near the beach) and have day trips to San SebastiĂĄn, Bilbao, the GeoPark and even the Rioja area. Our group of 4 couples recommend it highly and we hope we can visit again soon!

Excellent stay - great for groups - beautiful views

The entire experience was absolutely fantastic. We had such a great time, and were only sorry that we hadn't been able to book more time here. The house is wonderfully laid out, especially for larger groups or if you had multiple families. Every amenity you might need. The views are amazing. We even walked down into Getaria one afternoon (the walk back up would be a hike, but doable! Best not done in the dark though). All in all, fantastic on every level. Would absolutely recommend.

We spent six nights at Lazkano-Enea and found it to be the perfect base for exploring the Basque region. The cottage is charming as are the owners, Amaia and Neal, who reside next door. We called on them to help us out with numerous unfortunate and difficult situations
....the need for urgent care, a parking ticket and an unrepairable flat tire. They were extremely helpful and we deeply appreciated their assistance. Although I doubt we will have an opportunity to return to the Spanish Basque region, I can highly recommend this lovely home.

Simply perfect

This was probably one of the best houses we have stayed in as a family. I wished we had additional time to spend and soak up every moment of this magical home. To begin, the location has amazing views of the sea along with the historic and quaint town of Getaria. It was a great location for our family to take day trips, allowing us the ability to easily explore surrounding towns. The house is exceptional. Every room has been carefully designed with many thoughtful aspects to make you feel like you are right at home. It is welcoming, cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was very well appointed and I was able to cook several meals for our large family with ease. It was such a treat to have thoughtful items like spices on hand that made cooking a breeze. The many seating areas within the home offer fantastic views along with the numerous en suite bathrooms was a fantastic plus for our family. The beds were spacious and comfortable along with additional throws to make you feel right at home. If you are traveling to the Basque area, this would be an ideal location and phenomenal place to stay to soak in the daily life of the area. I would highly recommend. Nothing that I can think of as this was one of our favorite places along our travels to stay. We had only wished for more time to enjoy your beautiful home.

ROSEMARY

Holiday in Basque house.

In May we had a wonderful holiday with 2 other couples, (all of us from Sydney, Australia,) in a lovely house, surrounded by vineyards, overlooking Getaria. The first impression was stunning, red geraniums in window boxes & bright blue shutters. When we went into the house we were delighted with the view from the living room and long balcony overlooking the ocean & the fishing village. We were very comfortable , the kitchen was well equipped & there was lots of local pamphlets, plus very useful information from the owners. We felt very welcome. We did local trips & found Getaria was a charming place to visit. Lots of good restaurants, plus we all enjoyed watching the fishing fleet coming & going from the port. One memorable night we observed dozens of boats fishing at night with lights, for squid ? There were pleasant local walks & very good local supermarkets. Our visits to San SebastiĂĄn several times were highlights. I would suggest booking a pintxos tour with a guide. ( we went by taxis ! ) I would thoroughly recommend this house, lots of spare bedrooms on 2 levels, & an extra kitchenette downstairs. We really only lived upstairs, though one couple enjoyed having the extra space & chose a bedroom downstairs. We were all very sorry to leave, & wished we had an extra week, I would thoroughly recommend staying longer. I would love to go back with my children & grandchildren. I cooked this baby lamb. Delectable !

"c'est une maison bleue adossée a la colline....." magnifique maison décorée avec un gout exquis.Nous y avons passé un séjour inoubliable malgré un temps maussade car nous avons apprécié rentrer a la maison pou profiter d'un feu de bois dans la cheminée et de la magnifique vue sur le port de getaria et les vignobles de txakoli aux belles couleurs d'automne . la maison est trÚs confortable, les chambres spacieuses avec un literie excellente ainsi que le linge de lit et le linge de toilette . calme absolu .Cuisine are bien équipée, pieces de vie chaleureuses . beaux meubles ,beaucoup de livres ( adultes et enfants ) jeux de société et jouets pour enfants Un grand merci à Amaia et Aberri pour leur accueil trÚs chaleureux et pour avoir su aménager une maison pleine de charme !!!!!!! Nous avons regrette d'en partir et nous souhaitons pouvoir y revenir trÚs vite MERCI AMAIA et ABERRI

SituĂ©e entre mer et vignes, cette superbe maison est trĂšs bien Ă©quipĂ©e et tout Ă  fait conforme Ă  la description et aux photos. Rien n'y manque. La vue y est imprenable, la dĂ©coration est parfaite, la literie douillette avec le calme de la campagne. J'ajoute que l'accueil de nos hĂŽtesses fut trĂšs chaleureux et leur honnĂȘtetĂ© remarquable. Belle maison avec vue spectaculaire sur la mer

La maison est tout Ă  fait conforme Ă  l'annonce. Elle est situĂ©e en hauteur et dispose d'une vue magnifique sur la mer. L'ameublement est de grande qualitĂ© et mĂȘme luxueux. La maison Ă©tait trĂšs propre Ă  notre arrivĂ©e et les propriĂ©taires sont trĂšs agrĂ©ables. L'emplacement est relativement isolĂ©. Pour aller Ă  la plage de Zarautz Ă  pied il y a un chemin de randonnĂ©e qui permet d'y descendre en une vingtaine de minutes. Se garer dans Zarautz n'est pas facile et nous avons prĂ©fĂ©rĂ© y aller Ă  pied. Deux petits bĂ©mols : les salles de bains ont tendance Ă  mal s'aĂ©rer et il y a beaucoup de moustiques autour de la maison.

Un super séjour!

Nous avons été ravis à tous les niveaux. Le cadre, la vue sur la mer, l.appartement trÚs sympa, les chambres avec une trÚs bonne literie... Une adresse a recommander...

Excellente adresse

Nous avons passĂ© 8 jours trĂšs agrĂ©ables Ă  Getaria dans cette superbe maison basque. La maison est parfaitement adaptĂ©e pour les grandes familles (jusqu'Ă  4 enfants), trĂšs fonctionnelle et avec une vue exceptionnelle sur le port de pĂȘche de Getaria. La maison sur trouve au milieu des vignes, sur l'un des sentiers de pĂ©lĂ©rinage vers St Jacques de Compostelle et de nombreuses randonnĂ©es sont possibles en partant directement de la maison. La grande plage de sable fin de Zarauz est accessible en 20 minutes en marchant au travers des vignes. Les propriĂ©taires sont charmants et trĂšs discrets. Voiture indispensable.
