Historic ADA Home, 2 blocks to square, Parking
There's something different about waking up two blocks from ground where history was made — stepping outside, coffee in hand, and knowing the battlefield is a five-minute walk away. This 6-bedroom brick home was designed for the kind of trip families talk about for years: multi-generational, modern conveniences, no car needed. The first floor is ADA accessible with a roll-in shower, and 5 private parking spots mean arriving is as easy as being here. History is right outside the front door.
This is a rare find in Gettysburg — a substantial 6-bedroom historic brick home right in the heart of town, with the space a multigenerational family actually needs and an address that can't be beat. You're two blocks from Lincoln Square, two blocks from Steinwehr Avenue's shops and ghost tour operators, and five blocks on foot to the National Cemetery and the battlefields themselves. No shuttles, no car reshuffling, no paid lots — you just walk out the front door.
The home is built to accommodate multiple generations comfortably. The entire first floor — from the parking entrance through the kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom — is fully ADA accessible, including a roll-in shower. Older guests or anyone with mobility needs can navigate the whole main level without a single step. The extra living area gives the family room to spread out, and the covered patio opens up the space when the weather cooperates.
---Sleeping Arrangements--- The home sleeps up to 12 guests across 6 bedrooms:
• Ground Floor Bedroom 1: ADA accessible, ensuite bathroom with roll-in shower, Queen bed • Upstairs Bedroom 2 w/ Queen bed • Upstairs Bedroom 3 w/ King bed, ensuite bathroom • Upstairs Bedroom 4 w/ King bed • Upstairs Bedroom 5 w/ Queen bed • Upstairs Bedroom 6 w/ Twin bunk beds
---Outdoor Space--- Out back you have a large private yard and covered patio — a rare luxury in this part of town. After a full day on the battlefield, it's where the family lands: lawn chairs, evening air, and conversations about what you saw. The yard is fully enclosed and gives kids room to decompress while the adults stay put.
---Key Amenities---
• Full kitchen with everything you need to feed a group • Multiple living areas for family gathering and game nights • Washer/dryer in-unit • Smart TVs and streaming • High-speed WiFi throughout • ADA roll-in shower, first-floor bedroom, step-free entry from parking
---Location — Walk to Everything--- • 2 blocks to Lincoln Square (dining, shopping, town center) • 2 blocks to Steinwehr Ave (ghost tours, restaurants, shops) • 5 blocks to the National Cemetery and battlefield entrance • 3 min drive to Jennie Wade House Museum • 6 min drive to Gettysburg National Military Park & Visitor Center • 9 min drive to Eisenhower National Historic Site
Perfect for: Multigenerational families on a heritage trip, groups with elderly or mobility-limited guests, history-focused families traveling with grandparents and grandkids under one roof.
The entire first floor is ADA accessible: step-free entry from parking, wide doorways, and a roll-in shower in the first-floor bathroom. If anyone in your group has mobility considerations, please reach out before booking and I'm happy to answer specific questions.

Our stay here was absolutely incredible from start to finish. You can truly feel how much heart and care the owners poured into restoring this home. Every detail was thoughtfully done, and the house was spotless, beautiful, cozy, and so welcoming.Honestly, I cannot think of a single thing we needed that wasn’t already provided. The beds were extremely comfortable, the bedding and towels were high quality, and every space felt intentional and well cared for. It’s rare to stay somewhere that feels both beautifully designed and genuinely comfortable, but this place absolutely nailed both. The handwritten note when we arrived was such a thoughtful touch and made us feel immediately welcomed. The owners clearly care deeply about creating a wonderful experience for their guests, and it shows in every part of the property. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Gettysburg. Truly one of the best VRBO stays I have ever had.
