Giant Oak Cabin - A perfect lakeside retreat
This quiet property sits at the end of a dead-end road and is surrounded by water on three sides. Huge windows in both the living room and family room display gorgeous lake views. Three bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms can accommodate up to 8 people. The house is stocked with games, books, cozy chairs, and even a piano. A small walking path winds through the property woods. There is a canoe, and kayaks for guest use as well as a fire pit, grill, and lake-facing patio.
Loved the large windows and views of the lake. The cabin was clean and beds were comfortable. We had a group of 6 adults. There was plenty of space for everyone. Enjoyed the kayaks, canoes & firepit. The cabin was perfect for relaxing and quality family time. It was also perfectly located between Glenwood & Starbuck. Will definitely stay here again.
Cabin is somewhat dated, but it was clean and well taken care of, which is way more important to me! We were visiting family that have a cabin on Lake Minnewaska and the weather was wet and cool so we didn't get much chance to spend time outdoors. Some of my kids were able to fish off of the dock, which was very convenient! Beautiful backyard and quiet area.
This cabin is located at the end of a dead end street on a very large lot in a quiet area. We enjoyed the fantastic views of the lake. Large shading oak trees are numerous on this property. We saw many types of birds from the large windows overlooking the lake including pelicans, geese, eagles and purple martins. We would gladly stay here on a future visit. Nice dock where we enjoyed fishing.
What a great place to stay! Very clean with excellent views of the lake with perfect "cabin" feel. The ownwers were more than gracious and I will be back. Very highly recommended
Surprising large cabin on peninsula, so very private
Roomy cabin, super clean and quiet. Loved the 8 track player with tapes, it brought back fond memories. Well stocked kitchen and comfy beds. Canoes kayaks and life vests available to use. Sadly it rained so we will have to come back to give those a try.
The aging Camper Girls decided to Glamp this year and what a great spot we found. Gorgeous lake views, a fire ring for our camper pies and s'mores, a bed for all and running water! We loved it.
Family of 3 enjoyed this beautifully secluded cottage for a long summer weekend. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen contained everything we needed for the weekend. Communication with the owner couldnât have been smoother or easier. The location was excellent with expansive views of the lake from several rooms. The canoe/kayak equipment was excellent and gave us the opportunity to tour the lake.
We enjoyed our time. The cabin fit our needs. Who needs television and Wi-Fi! There was so much to enjoy: the lake, the kayaks and canoes, the fire pit, the books, the games, the stunning sunrises and moon over the lake and the privacy of a clean, well maintained cabin.
Wonderful vacation home! We enjoyed the convenient kitchen, the book shelf and nice chairs, the piano to sing around in the evening and the comfortable beds to sleep in. We have many happy mrmories.
This property was very peaceful and calming. It's at the end of a road in a point. It has neighbors but, you can't see them or hear them from this place. The house is a little dated, but well kept. No TV or WiFi, just nature and family. We really enjoyed our stay. We saw so many turtles, from snappers to painted, lots of fish, good fishing off the dock, even see carp spawning right on the shoreline of this place. The bird house was full of baby birds, lots of pelicans, geese and goslings, and even a green heron. The kayaks and conoes were a big hit with the family as well. It's nice to not have to bring our own to fully enjoy this lake. The house has everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Kitchen was pretty well stocked with what we needed to cook with. Nice charcoal grill. The beds were nice and comfortable. The hosts were very prompt and courteous. We had a coffee pot stop working and they were there within 20 with another one. All in all, if you want a peaceful place to enjoy nature and relax, this is a great place to stay. We really hope we can stay here again next year when we come to this area.
Came to Glenwood for our annual visit and once again stayed at the Giant Oak Cabin. Such a great place to gather with family! Already looking forward to our next stay!
The view and location is beautiful. The cabin is spacious and clean. The furniture is dated but honestly it added to the charm of a real lake cabin vs some rentals full of ikea furniture. If we're in the area we would 100% stay again.
Had lots of room in this cabin. Outdoor space was nice fur a bonfire and taking out the canoe. There is no Wi-Fi or TV in this cabin so be sure to have enough for kids to do.
