We stayed here in the Tudor 4 poster room. While some of the reviews mentioned noise in some of the suites, we only heard guests downstairs when we were in the bathroom and then only in the afternoon. It was quiet in the evening / night. It was a great place to stay after a 5,000 mile trip from the Western US and recover from jet lag before going on to meet friends and family elsewhere in the UK. (Itâs about a hour from Heathrow). The ford was good, the beer excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. And amazing to think that itâs been an alehouse and then an Inn since 1383. A business and a building with some serious staying power :)
The weather was very hot and when asked for a fan one arrived immediately
Bedroom needs a mirror near the plug so when drying hair you can see what you are doing
Brilliant service. Lovely staff. Great food. Excellent traditional pub bar.
Rooms could do with a bit of minor maintenance (broken blind and basin plug)
Lovely property on the edge of an idyllic village setting on a green. Staff were welcoming, room clean and tidy and food was lovely - the only thing that let it down was the cold shower and the fact that our friends could hear every word we said when we were in the bathroom area. We were in the new extension rooms
We stayed here for my wifeâs birthday and choose the Guardsroom as it had a four poster bed. The room is lovely with so much character
The staff are excellent and super attentive
The food was really nice, we had dinner and breakfast.
I really would recommend staying here as it cannot be faulted
Mysigt pubhotell i liten by. Be om rum pÄ baksidan
Hotellet ligger vid en stor vÀg. Pga vÀdret var vi tvungna att sova med öppet fönster. VÀcktes kl 0430 av tunga lastbilar. Fick byta till rum pÄ baksidan natt 2.
