The room did not match the photos. The furniture and bathroom were very old, the reno was more surface. The breakfast was wonderful but very long line ups for coffee and Egg Bar. There should be free bottled water available in the room. There was an Essential Oil Convention and they should have made sure that the several hundred guests had a different room for breakfast, they could not handle that many people at once.The pungent smell was very apparent throughout the whole hotel and bothered many of the regular guests. Requests for room cleaning etc. was often overlooked and had to be re requested.

The room was old and tired. A coat of paint and some new pictures doesn't make a four star hotel. The room felt a bit grubby, the beds felt like sofa bed mattresses, the hallway noise sounded as if it was happening in my room, and the bathroom seemed to be about 30 years old. A disappointing stay. I honestly don't know which rooms the people who left Expedia reviews were staying in - I seriously thought I'd booked the wrong hotel.

Night manager John , was rude nasty , horrible , I checked in 200pm shower , snooze 1030 go have beer , used my issued key card , doors open , John instructed security to make sure I didn’t enter premises, rudely, at volume 5 times accused me , basic theft of card to open door , no checks , no facts , spent next 1hour , with all his theatre, humiliation, frustration, want drama on Gold Coast . I payed good money and was . John needs people skills , hiding like a. I’ll never stay there again

Hotel is within walking distance to beach and train stop is right outside hotel. Cavill Street is within walking distance. Hotel is clean, staff is courteous. We got the daily breakfast with our stay. Was worth it. Would stay again.
