We had a wonderful stay! The house is even better than shown in the photographs - we loved looking around at the various historical memorabilia and photos from the renovation. It was well appointed and was comfortable for our family of 5 - the kids loved playing disk golf outside and we had a fun evening around the fire pit on the one night we got in and werenât too tired from our excursions. It was a pleasant 15 minute drive into Lynchburg and only about 5 minutes from a small town where we could get food and anything else we might need. As âtrain houseâ alludes to, it was down the road from some train tracks. When we booked, we were initially apprehensive about possible noise, but being well away from the city/crossings the trains never sounded their horns and it was far enough away from the house and muffled enough by trees and other structures that you would only know a train was passing by a slight rumble. Definitely not enough to wake anyone. Kristin was very accessible and welcoming, and checked in with us a few times via the VRBO app throughout our stay. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us for the week!
The property is in a nice location and easy to get to. The house is newly renovated that combines new sleek looks with the old house work. The kitchen tile floors resemble the old train station and the old work wood rafters make for a nice view. The house is a great place for a family stay and located near great locations.
We stayed here for the PDGA disc golf world championships and it was the perfect home base - 12 minutes from both New London and Ivy Hill courses. Kristen was a wonderful host, very responsive to questions and helpful. The house has a cool history and the owners clearly put a lot of care into restoring it. Enjoyed peaceful mornings on the rocking chairs on the front porch. Thank you!
Kristen has done an amazing job turning this historic property into a very modern home. Everything is brand new in the home - bedding, appliances, fixtures, furniture.
