Posted Jun. 18, 2024 on HomeAwayHad an amazing time at Tradewinds. Great location. Plenty of space to spread out. Everything we needed was there, and Tippy’s was right down the road. Communication with Jethro was excellent. The pool was an added bonus after along day exploring beaches.

Ultimate Paradise
Posted May 25, 2024 on HomeAwayThis place is perfect for exploring beaches and also having a pool. Located in the middle of the island its convenient to go either North or South. Jethro is hands down the best home owner we have ever rented from. Immediate response in person if needed. Even though right on Banks Rd the privacy is perfect! Looking forward to returning to this beautiful island and will definitely return to Tradewinds!

JUST BOOK IT
Posted May 10, 2024 on HomeAwayAfter rescheduling our trip to Eleuthera 2-3 times due to Covid and then a medical issue, we were finally able to make it down to stay at Jethro’s property and it was totally worth the wait! The home is located in a nice area that gets you away from everything! The beach across the street is STUNNING and you MIGHT see 1-2 other people strolling the sand but you also might not. The property was exactly as listed and well appointed-Jethro and Bubbles (his sweet pup) stopped by upon checkin to go over a few things and that was really nice. Speaking of Jethro, you can expect his communication with you to be stellar - truly a helpful and gracious host! He now sets the bar for all VRBO hosts LOL.
Highly suggest Tippy’s which is super close to the house (amazing customer service, food/drinks, and view; popping down to Ten Bay Beach (about a fifteen minute drive from the house) which was jaw dropping beautiful, visiting the Glass Window bridge (and if you’re brave and careful climb up on the rocks for some amazing panoramic pics), and hitting The Market supermarket for groceries. We did go to Harbour Island for a day trip; rented a golf cart to scoot around and it was really nice-much more of a bougie scene on that island and a lot more people if that’s your thing. But we were quite happy at the beach across the street from Jethro’s and then cooling off in the pool at the end of the day! Felt totally safe during our whole trip. Like I said, JUST BOOK IT.

Stay like you live there!
Posted Mar. 28, 2024 on HomeAwayThe house is well appointed with everything that you need to live there. There are a collection of toiletries as well as TP and PT. The kitchen has all you need to cook (stay like you live there) with seasonings -we added garlic powder, mustard, Mayo and salad dressing- all the small appliances and kitchen equipment is there. The grill is nice, and we used it a few times. Your beach days are covered with chairs, mats, toys and snorkel gear for the family. Bring your fishing poles! Don’t fill your suitcase with beach towels they have many. The lovely pool and deck with lounges gives you something to do on your “down time.” The two upper decks are ideal for sunrise, sunset, star gazing, meals and a spectacular space launch we saw go right over head!! The location is perfect for exploring the island top to bottom. Jethro and Cate, your hosts, go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. With tips on where to eat, what to see and things you shouldn’t miss while you’re staying. If you want to live like a local and have it feel like your home. Stay here, I assure you you won’t be disappointed.

Slice of heaven!
Posted Feb. 26, 2024 on HomeAwayThis property was absolutely perfect in every way. Spacious, clean, fully stocked with beach towels, kitchen appliances and dinnerware. We enjoyed sitting on both decks, listening to the waves and watching the sunrise/sunset. Location of this house is exceptional and Jethro was an amazing host. He made himself available as often as we needed and had so much helpful knowledge of the island.
The pool on site was a huge added bonus. It’s big enough for the kids to play in or just to enjoy while you cool off from the sun.
The property is a very short walk to the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen! We spent most of our time there. Kids loved swimming in it, walking around finding beach treasures and exploring the rock barrier at the south end. They played in those shallow pools for HOURS as the tide went out.
Tippy’s was definitely a bonus to have within walking distance and full of lovely people. Food is very good, and live music was very enjoyable. Coco Cream (ice cream) was a nightly treat and only a short car ride away- kids really looked forward to that! The restaurant next door, Buccaneers, was also amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious- we even bought a bottle of their ghost pepper hot sauce to take home.
We will absolutely be back to Tradewins! Highly, highly recommend this property and location. My husband and our two kids (12 & 9) had one of the best vacations we’ve ever had together.

Paradise
Posted Dec. 29, 2023 on HomeAwayTradewinds was ideal for us. Frequent visitors to Eleuthera we know the area quite well. The house is perfect for lounging or entertaining family who are staying at nearby resorts. We will be back for more long walks on The Bahamas best beaches.

Family Adventure
Posted Nov. 27, 2023 on HomeAwayWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Trade Winds. It was stocked with everything needed, including beach chairs, ice chests, toys, and snorkel gear. The location near Govenor's Harbor was the perfect take off point to explore the many wonders Eleuthra has to offer. And at every turn Jethro, the home owner/property manager was there to assist. He saved the day more then once when we had car trouble (a rental car is necessary and an adventure in itself), even taking us to get pizza for dinner while we awaited our repaired rental car. Our excursions to Cathedral and Preachers Caves, Sapphire Blue Hole, Harbor Island and Spanish Wells were all wonderful day trips and regardless of where we explored the locals were warm, helpful and inviting. The hi-light was a charter with Captain Kid out of Spanish Wells, stunning beaches to comb, snorkel, swim with sea rays and pigs was not to be missed. We hope to return soon.

Trade Winds
Posted Oct. 21, 2023 on HomeAwayWe loved it there...it was quiet, peaceful and very private. We would definitely be staying there again. The only issue is that it is listed as a 3 bedroom when it's actually a 2 bedroom. The pool house makes the 3rd bedroom and that has to be rented separately. Other than that, this place is fantastic. Jethro is an awesome host!

An Unforgettable Experience
Posted Oct. 2, 2023 on HomeAwaycomfortable,spacious, well equipped, property well manicured, pool and poolhouse well maintained. Overall,the property is wonderful.My only regret is that I was unable to spend a longer time at the Tradewinds.
