With a large renovated kitchen and spacious deck to watch the waves roll in, Whale House is the perfect base for your South West adventure!

Only a short stroll to the beach, general store, Cape to Cape trail and surf breaks, Whale House is the perfect choice for groups of friends or families looking for a well equipped home to explore the region.

This home has unforgettable ocean views and a relaxed beach vibe!

The Space:

If you're hoping for a new and modern home, Whale House might not be the right choice for you - however, if it's a comfortable and laid-back base that you're looking for this is the perfect choice!

The kitchen is fully renovated with every utensil you could need to cook up a feast for your family/friends! Not to mention the ocean views and sunsets which will make you slow down and take it all in!

Upstairs bedroom one has 1 x Queen-size bed, bedroom two has 1 x Queen-size bed and bedroom three has 2 x Single-size beds. Downstairs, bedroom four has one Double-size bed - please note that this is a 'sleep-out' style room, accessible on the ground level with a separate entrance. The house is approved to have 6 guests only.

The large lounge room has stunning ocean views with TV, Bluetooth speaker and wood-burning fireplace. The living area opens onto a balcony with amazing views, there is a BBQ for you to enjoy an evening meal or sit back and sip a glass of local wine out on the deck at Sunset.

The main bathroom upstairs has been renovated and features a walk in shower, the separate WC is just next door. Please note, while the first bathroom is newly renovated the second bathroom is still in the original condition, it is downstairs with access from the undercroft area. It shares the laundry space and while in perfect working order it is great for a quick rinse after a surf, but not as pretty as the upstairs bathroom.

With great views, large living space, undercroft outdoor area under the house, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms and 2 toilets this makes a great relaxed house to share a holiday with families.

Perfect for Families - however, please note that children MUST be supervised on the deck and stairs.

As mentioned above the 4th bedroom is in a separate 'sleep out' room downstairs, outside the main house.

Good old house for a few friends to kick back and relax

The place was an older but well renovated property at the top of town. Some parts were a bit tiered and not the cleanest, but overall a lovely place with 4 bedrooms, a wonderfully stocked working kitchen and a balcony overlooking the ocean. Lovely for sunsets and late dinner chats!

A little disappointed considering the nightly rate

Let me start with saying this property has amazing views over the Gracetown coastline. Simply stunning! I realise this is a beach shack, and so perhaps is aimed at a more budget customer, and whilst there have been some modernisation and renovation for comfort, so much more could, and should be done to ensure a happy guest. Nightly rental rates for accommodation have risen significantly in these Covid state lockdown times and with it, income for holiday home owners. It would be prudent to invest some of this income into a better quality experience for your guests. It’s good business sense! These are some of the issues I’ve identified: - no doona cover on our bed. All other doonas on other beds had covers on though. - Musty/old smell in bedrooms.Perhaps the carpets could do with a steam clean. - Some blinds broken in bedrooms - blinds not blockout so we woke up not long after the sun rose, before 6am - bare light bulbs in bedrooms - old marked and scratched furniture - bedside tables are dusty and dirty - dirty frypans. One with baked on grease too dirty to use. For the $$$ a night you are getting, it would be worth spending some money on fresh cushions, new furniture, better blinds etc. I had already emailed the property management 5 days ago, but haven’t received a reply - that’s concerning!

The property was in a good location with great views of the water.

The view was beautiful and some lovely walks along the coast. Great little café close by with delicious food. The living space was fabulous and very comfortable. The bedrooms could be updated and the bathroom shower did not drain well. I would recommend this location for exploring Margaret River.

There should be a mop and bucket supplied with small children in the house for 4 days the floor was not that clean One of the double beds fell apart and was not able to be fixed the slats need to be screwed onto the base. everything else was fine

What you see is what you get

The property is just as described in the property brief. We enjoyed our time here and would recommend it to others. What let’s the property down is lack of attention to detail in some areas. You are greeted by overflowing bins and some rubbish on the ground in the parking area, cobwebs at the entrance area and on most other windows. The path to the front door had not been swept in weeks. As a guest there were limited items provided to keep the place clean. The BBQ was dirty, there was nothing in the property for us to use to clean it so we did not use it. There was dog poo at various locations throughout the back yard which we picked up. These two last points though a result of previous guests not respecting the property should have been checked. Though disappointing these issues would not stop me from returning...... just attention to detail needs addressing and we would have given the place 10/10 as opposed to 6/10
