Lemon Lodge is an amazing property to stay on. Right by the water and the river, lots of seating available, a nice beach for kids to play on. The house itself needs a lot of work. I understand the cabin is well over 100 years old, but the dishwasher doesn't work properly. We couldn't get hot water in the upstairs shower, the kitchen faucet is in rough shape and needs to be replaced among other things. Overall my stay was ok, but I don't believe I'd stay in this cabin again.
Property is very old, which is part of the reason we stayed. If those walls could talk... Floors creak, doors and walls and doors lean. All this is part of the charm of an old cabin. Location is amazing. Walk to town, nearby inlet, private docks, fire pit. Very quiet and peaceful setting. We were notified before checking in that a bathroom door knob was broken, and upon check-in, I communicated with the owner, and provided pictures and measurements to him. He mentioned he would try an fix the door knob, but he never showed up during out ten day stay. There are also reports that the clothes dryer didn't work, but it worked for us. Just make sure the filter is clean. If you want to use the Weber Grill, bring briquettes. And if hosting a large group, bring some washable plastic cups, and steak knives. There were limited numbers of glassware and only four steak knives in the kitchen when we arrived. There are also only eight bath towels and four wash clothes available. Overall, a great stay, and we would consider staying here again. Enjoy.
This is billed as the oldest rental cabin in Colorado, which has its pros and cons. It was the only place that could accommodate all of us (15 people) for anything close to the price, especially to be just seconds from the shore of Grand Lake. The Lemmon Lodge staff, particularly Brian, were very helpful with arrangements for a dock for our two boats. The place is in good shape for a cabin of its age, but it comes with creaky floors, and electricity and plumbing that were probably added decades after its original construction. Unfortunately, the on-demand water heater was over-sized for the electrical capacity of the house, so it runs at half-capacity, and any other substantial load, especially the range/oven, runs the risk of killing the power to the water heater and/or the entire house. We made a habit of only showering when nobody was cooking, and only one bathroom at a time, and it worked out okay. Hopefully the electrical capacity can be upgraded to correct this. That said, we'd stay there again, as Lemmon Lodge has special memories from our childhood, and we'd have to pay twice as much to stay anywhere else with as many bedrooms.
Great location to get to all the fun spots for winter sports.
It was a little challenging, we had 14 and could not use one of the rooms counted because it was actually the enclosed porch with no heat. A few plumbing issues that the owner took care of very quickly. We loved having the fireworks right out our back door for New Year's.
Upon arrival found a completely dirty house. Called owner and was told I would be âtaken care ofâ I had to clean the house myself! Was expecting a cleaning refund and nothing. I have been staying in this rental for 30 years and have never seen it in such shape.
The cabin had an easy-going atmosphere, and the nearby lake made it easy for the kids to wander off and have a good time. There were plenty of towels and the owner was easy to get ahold of. I loved the big table for meals, and the mountain setting was refreshing and ideal.
The large gathering space, different sitting areas, and the location in Lemon Lodge right on Grand Lake, are the selling points for this cabin. We rented two additional cabins in the Lemon Lodge area to accommodate our family reunion and this cabin offered the most gathering space but was also the most rustic of the three.
The style is more like a log cabin with old fashioned decor and just the basic amenities. Large groups may want to bring in supplementary toilet paper, garbage bags, and additional bath towels.
The hosts were responsive when I contacted them and helped problem solve when necessary. Check-in and check-out instructions are not super clear so as guests we didn't know when we would receive our door code or if we were supposed to strip sheets upon leaving, etc.
We appreciated the opportunity to gather as a family.

Awesome place
Weâve been staying at this cabin off and on for 30 years. Always a great time
11 of us stayed in this cabin for 6 nights. It was clean and comfortable and plenty of room to stretch out. It is an extremely Colorado cabin and would definitely stay there again. The owner of this cabin is quick to respond to any questions and pleasant to deal with. The location was perfect. Walk to the village in minutes and the lake is outside your front door. Loved it and will be back!
As always my family and I had a Great time at our stay in the Main House. It was 2 years where we didn't stay there, but now that we are back we will book it again.
We love Grand Lake, Colorado and this was a fabulous location. There is so much to do there. We hiked, went horseback riding, went on a boat ride, played countless matches of croquet in the back, tons of family games inside, and had a great spot for watching the 4th of July fireworks. Tallie, the owners rep on-site was fabulous and there to assist us in numerous ways. We all loved the lodge, although a bit tight for our 4 generation reunion, but it really worked out splendidly. I would highly recommend this lodge.
Lemmon Lodge is so unique! Private beach, boat docks, fishing on the lake or inlet and blocks from town. This is our 10th year and we will come as long as we can!
This cabin is extra special. So cozy and sleeps a lot! And, as if the Lemmon Lodge didn't have the best location, this cabin is one of the best in Lemmon Lodge. Thank you!
A little creaky upstairs which made sleeping a little difficult when anyone got up. The main living area was very nice for evening family time. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and silverware.
It is in a great spot on the grounds too, close to everything.
My husband and I took 8 grandchildren here for a mini vacation this fall. Children were 4yrs to 11 yrs. What great memories we made. The lake was the cold but the grand kids still managed to get in it. Fall was beautiful. We cooked, played games, hiked watched the Broncos and laughed together. Kids loved the rustic cabin. My husband loved all the photos of lakes hanging about the cabin. Owners are delightful and accommodating.
