Charming Two Bedroom Cottage with Magnificent Sea Views. 10 minutes from Kenmare

Bedrock Cottage has unique and stunning panoramic views straight from the sitting room and kitchen, over the entire Kenmare River and onwards to the Caha Mountains on the Beara Peninsula opposite. Very quietly situated on it's own plot of .5 Hectare and just a few minutes off the Wild Atlantic Way. Ideal for the ultimate relaxation or to help healing, creative writing or as an ideally located base for touring the Dingle, Iveragh or Beara Peninsulas, along with the Skellig ring and Ring of Kerry.

Bedrock Cottage is let on a Saturday to Saturday basis only, during the peak season! Please note we cannot accept children under the age of 12 years due to the elevation of the property.

Well furnished and well equipped with a breakfast kitchen, and a large living / dining space. Large panoramic French sliding doors / windows. Along with a Fridge there is also a separate stand alone Larder Freezer. Two bedrooms, one with a double bed and en suite bath with hand held shower and W.C, and one with two single beds and en suite shower and W.C. Gas Hob and Electric Oven. Along with the Fridge there is a separate stand alone Larder Freezer. Oil fired central heating (under floor). Towels /Linens are all provided. TV. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Microwave. No pets.

Notes: Elevated property – not suitable for children UNDER 12. We do not ask for a security deposit, but we trust our guests to kindly replace any breakages with a similar item. If you do not have time to do this, kindly leave a note or email at time of departure, informing us what may need replacing, in order that the next guest may have as an enjoyable experience in Bedrock , as hopefully you will have had yourself.

Bedrock Cottage Arrangements: Arrival time at Bedrock Cottage is after 4pm and departure time is before 10 am in order to allow time to prepare the cottage for our guests. Your cooperation in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

COVID-19 Guest Cleaning:
Just a few simple requests in order to facilitate our cleaning and maintenance company’s preparation for our next guests:
‱ There will be 2 laundry bags provided.
1. Please ensure all towels are placed in one laundry bag provided
2. Please ensure all bed sheets are placed in the second laundry bag provided
‱ Please ensure all bins in bedrooms/bathrooms are emptied
‱ Please place all rubbish in large bins behind the boiler house (orange lidded bin for recyclables)
‱ Empty dishwasher or fill and start
‱ Please remove all food from the fridge and dispose of such food in the bins provided
‱ Please vacate Bedrock Cottage by 10.00 A.M.
‱ No early check ins or later check outs can be accommodated due to COVID-19 cleaning procedures

Cottage mit Weitblick

Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit in Bedrock Cottage, obwohl das Wetter nicht immer mitgespielt hat. Idealer Ausgangspunkt fĂŒr Erkundigungen der Beara Halbinsel und Killarney National Park. Das Cottage ist sehr gut ausgestattet und es fehlt, insbesondere in der KĂŒche, an gar nichts. Sogar ein Mixer und ein „Zauberstab“ fĂŒr Pfannkuchen und die lang ersehnte GemĂŒsesuppe waren zu unserer großen Freude vorhanden.. Linda und Patrick waren sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend.

Fantastic stay, everything was perfect!

My mum and I spent one week at the cottage in June 2018 and we absolutely loved it! It was easy to find thanks to the information Patrick had sent us in advance. The cottage is charming, very clean and welcoming and has absolutely everything one needs! Both rooms are nice and comfy and each one has a nice bathroom en-suite.The house is situated in a quiet area and offers stunning views! It is perfectly located about 10min by car from Kenmare and we were able to discover a new place (Ring of Kerry, Dingle, Beara, Mizen Head, Killarney, etc.) each day. We highly recommend this lovely cottage to anyone who wants to spend a great time in the area and feel happy to come back every evening to a place that feels like home. Thanks a lot to Linda and Patrick, who were always very helpful and extremely quick to answer any of our questions before or during our stay.

TrĂšs agrĂ©able maison,idĂ©ale pour 2 couples ou un seul avec un ou deux enfants. C'est le calme ,la vue superbe et avec le temps irlandais,sur la Kenmare river et ses Ăźles, ça n'est jamais la mĂȘme lumiĂšre ,la mĂȘme impression ! Nous avons aussi apprĂ©ciĂ© la confiance des propriĂ©taires,pas de caution, pas d'Ă©tat des lieux,si vous cassez quelque chose ils vous demande simplement de remplacer.Alors Ă  vous de mĂ©riter cette confiance ! En arrivant nous avons trouvĂ© (en plus de la petite attention de bienvenue)une tempĂ©rature agrĂ©able (chauffage par le sol basse tempĂ©rature) Quelques petites idĂ©es cependant pour les propriĂ©taires (pour amener la location au top) -Mettre des mitigeurs sur l'Ă©vier et sur la baignoire(l'eau est trĂšs chaude et assez difficile Ă  rĂ©gler) -Mettre des rideaux plus opaques dans les chambres (Peut ĂȘtre pour les français ?) En Irlande je n'ai jamais vu de volets aux fenĂȘtres) -Avoir plus d'assiettes et de couverts pour Ă©viter de faire tourner le lave vaisselle trop souvent. Bon sĂ©jour aux futurs locataires

Sehr schönes Haus in hervorragender Lage

Das Haus ist wie im Internet beschrieben - es ist sauber und großzĂŒgig. Die KĂŒche ist mit allem eingerichtet was man fĂŒr einen Ferienaufenthalt braucht. Die Kommunikation mit Patrick war reibungslos. Wir können diese Unterkunft sehr empfehlen und wĂŒrden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Einfach nur: WOW!

Wir haben in den letzten 20 Jahren ziemlich viele FerienhĂ€user gebucht, so begeistert waren wir selten (oder gar nicht?). Anfahrt gut beschrieben und knapp 15 Autominuten von Zentrum von Kenmare (~1,5 Std. Cork Airport), mit einem absolut phantastischen Blick auf die Bucht von Kenmare sehr ruhig und als Startpunkt fĂŒr viele Unternehmungen perfekt gelegen. Wir kamen an, betraten das Haus und fĂŒhlten uns zuhause. ZweckmĂ€ĂŸig eingerichtet, Landhausstil, alles stimmig, kein Schnickschnack. Im Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett ist die Matratze wirklich gut, die Sessel im Wohnbereich sind bequem. TV, Mikrowelle, Kaffeemaschine, Waschmaschine und SpĂŒlmaschine haben wir nicht benutzt, Herd und Backofen in der gut ausgestatteten KĂŒche sind gut funktionierend, Toaster ebenso. Die Dusche im "kleinen" Bad ist ebenfalls gut funktionierend und das Wifi arbeitet störungsfrei. Einige basics in der KĂŒche sind vorhanden (Essig, Öl, Salz, Pfeffer, Zucker, einige GewĂŒrze). Zur BegrĂŒĂŸung gab es eine Flasche Wein, selbiger hat uns gefreut und gemundet. Vielen, herzlichen Dank hier nochmal an Patrick, den wir zwar nicht persönlich kennengelernt haben, der aber bei einem "Miniproblem" schnell helfen konnte. Sollten wir (durchaus denkbar), nochmals Kerry besuchen, wĂŒrden wir diese Unterkunft garantiert wieder buchen. 🇼đŸ‡Ș☘

Great location and a short drive from Kenmare

We had a great week at Bedrock cottage, we were able to easily access the Beara Peninsula as well as other magnificent parts of the Ring of Kerry. We especially enjoyed The Reeks and cycling on the roads in the area. The tearooms at Lord Brandon's cottage were really great (cash only). We had a fantastic time.

A magical view. A helpful host. A gateway to Kenmare.

Bedrock cottage was indeed a marvel. The view of Kenmare Bay may be one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. The Irish light changed the mountain scape of Beara every hour. The house was very comfortable, the kitchen, bedrooms, bath, all splendid. The owner was very helpful and communicative. I would go back in a second.

Bedrock cottage: peace and quiet

Wonderful views over the Kenmare River. A great area for sitting outside, with picnic table. Big windows. Surrounded by trees, flowers and birds. Super efficient heating and Wi-Fi. Well-equipped kitchen. Quite remote, up a narrow lane, not suitable for driving back after an evening in the pub! Needs a little updating: curtains in bedrooms are very thin, letting in light in the mornings; a couple of floor lamps in the sitting area would make reading easier in the evenings; and a new sofa would be nice. Anyway we had a great stay - and if you like peace and quiet, and great views, this one’s for you!

Wonderful Cottage Above Kenmare Bay

We enjoyed an idyllic respite at Patrick’s cottage on a hill overlooking the bay. Bedrock Cottage was a perfect spot from which to take day trips to Beara and Kerry Peninsulas, Kenmare, Killarney, and more. The cottage is perched above a valley, where on our first evening we watched a dog herd cattle back to a nearby barn. The view was different every day; the changing colors in the water and various formations of mists between mountains and water invariably spectacular. Bees, birds, and butterflies

the setting is truly bucolic. Patrick was very responsive to our questions. This was our first trip to Ireland, and we loved it all—from the music and pints in the pubs to the cow standing atop a boulder on a remote outcropping near Allihies. We hope to return soon!

Great place with amazing view on Kenmare bay

We spent a super week between Kenmare and Sneem, close to the Ring of Kerry. Very nice cottage, silent (no traffic) with a beautiful view over the Kenmare bay. Communication was very good, always quick/immediate. All necessary information was given prior to our arrival. No problems whatsoever - we would return whenever we should travel the same region in future.

Traumhafte Aussicht, ruhige Lage und dennoch gute Anbindung, wenn man den Killarney Nationalpark und den Ring of Kerry erkunden möchte. Uns hat der einfache gemĂŒtlich-rustikale Stil des Cottage gefallen. Hinweis fĂŒr alle, die Wert auf eine große Glotze legen: Es gibt nur einen alten Röhren-TV. Die Fish-and-Chips-Bude nur wenige hundert Meter entfernt auf einem Parkplatz, ist zu empfehlen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Klare Empfehlung.
