The Moosehead Hideaway is a four-season luxury vacation rental in Maine's majestic wilderness. Moosehead Lake's intricate shoreline of coves, beaches and islands provide a spectacular setting for an endless variety of outdoor activities.

The Moosehead Hideaway is a tastefully decorated custom built 3-bedroom Lindal Cedar Home located 30 feet from the shore of Moosehead Lake. This home offers guests superior scenic lake and mountain views from the comforts of the master-bedroom loft to the private dock. Enjoy long afternoons on the spacious wrap-around deck, or take one of our kayaks or canoe for a trip to the restaurants and shops in downtown Greenville, a picturesque four-season mountain resort town.

The fully-equipped kitchen offers guests every possible amenity needed to cook their favorite gourmet meals. An outdoor Weber charcoal grill is provided, as well as a copper fire-pit for roasting marshmellows while enjoying the sunset on Moosehead Lake.

The open living & dining area offers floor to ceiling window views of the lake, a gas fireplace, and 2 flatscreen TV with YoutubeTV, Netflix, HBO & DVD player.

Enjoy a restful night in the spacious master-bedroom loft-suite with a new pillow top queen bed, sitting/reading area, walk-in closet, private bathroom, and flatscreen TV with YoutubeTV, Netflix, HBO & DVD player.

Great spot, having access to lake was wonderful,did kayak some. Convenient to all.Was a great location to just sit and relax and have a peaceful weekend. Very quiet, all conveniences of home. Thank you soo much for a wonderful stay, would definitely come again.

The location and property design are great. The hosts have everything that we needed for our visit. The lake view is fantastic and we saw northern lights 2 out of 3 nights. Home had a charcoal grill and fire pit we used several times. We didn’t get to use the kayaks so that’ll have to be next time. A few minute drive to the center of town with several good restaurants. Definitely would rent this place again.

Beautiful view and close to civilization

Beautiful home right on Moosehead Lake with stunning views. Plenty of space to entertain with a lovely kitchen with up to date appliances and also a washer and dryer. Included kayaks for recreation! The bathrooms were very clean. Overall a wonderful stay and a wonderful home. It was beautiful to start and end the day with a sunrise and sunset from the loft bedroom. It was the perfect piece of paradise without being too isolated as we had neighbors next door. We also were less than 5 minutes from the small downtown restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops. My spouse and I greatly enjoyed making our coffee and enjoying the balcony and dock. while we didn’t actively use the dock we did hang out on the chairs there to watch the loons and other birds.A few things to note preference wise if you book- if you have a messed up back such as myself I reccomend sleeping in the downstairs bedroom. The loft mattress was a bit too soft for my back and exacerbated my lower back issues.- If you’re a light sleeper like me, depending on the time of year you may want to sleep in the downstairs rooms only because the loft bedroom has no doors and the windows facing the beautiful lake have no blinds. Important because during June the sun was rising at 4 in the morning and if you’re a southerner like myself you will forget that the sun rises earlier in the day and sets later because of the geographic location of Northern Maine. This isn’t specific to this home it’s more so to the area in general.

This was a wonderful place. The location is lovely and despite some of the other reviews, we did not experience any noise issues. We especially enjoyed the dock, amazing view, and watching the sea planes take off and land.

The property is "OUTSTANDING" IN EVERY WAY. 1 thing I would recommend, exchange your TV provider to "Spectrum". When the owner and I spent over 30 minutes trying to figure out how to get the TV to work, it worked ok for 3 hours until we turned it off to go to bed. When we tried to use it the next evening, we could not figure it out, nor could we the next day. It wouldn't have been a problem at all if we had great weather, but we didn't so it was a problem. If we ever want to do another trip, we'll call this owner first for sure!

Run down and loud

Place is in a state of serious disrepair. Dock has been badly damaged for two years (as per owner) and still not fixed, yet not disclosed. If my children were younger it would have been a major safety issue. Safety bar in shower never secured. It detached (slid out of wall) when my wife (bad knee) put her weight on it and fell. This could have ended our vacation. Owner also aware of this issue and offered to fix it next week, AFTER our stay. Lastly, while not the fault if the owner, the next door neighbors are animals and leave their dog outside to howl throughout the night, every single night. Do not recommend. No AC, so the choice was to cook with the windows closed or listen to a very distressed dog.at 3am.

Lake view retreat

Our family truly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home with amazing views of the lake. The location was close to shops, restaurants, and activities. It was nice hanging around the campfire at night or for my boys to fish at anytime they felt like it. Plenty of kayaks for the whole family to enjoy and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking meals at home. We hope to come back again someday!!!
