Perfect stay at Guilin. Nearby the lake and touristic area, spacious modern-zen style room, spectacular terrace with pool and fitness area. Delicious breakfast and extremely attentive staff.

Beautiful new hotel in nice location but poor wifi

Publié le 21 août 2018 sur Expedia
Pour : The design of the hotel interior from the lobby to the corridors and rooms is excellent. Looks and feels like a mini Shangri-la hotel
Contre : Wifi was awful. We tried for 4 whole days. Websites barely loaded
Emplacement : Zhengyang pedestrian street is nearby. Go there for food options. Follow this street to the end, cross Jiefang E road, then right into the alleyways!
I would've given this hotel an excellent rating were it not for the terrible wifi connection. It's brand new right beside Shanhu Lake (north side). Be sure to show the Chinese address and name of the hotel. Very few taxi drivers know where it is since it's brand new. The hotel's telephone number in expedia is incorrect! I've attached a screenshot of the hotel's Chinese name and address below. Even with this information, our taxi driver had trouble finding it. Oddly it doesn't show up in a google Maps search on my desktop and it shows up in a different place on my iPhone Maps app (the locator is on the square behind the hotel when it should be on lakeside Shanhu N Road (Shanhu Bei). If all else fails, tell the taxi driver to take you to Guilin Conjee restaurant which is next door to the hotel. Cars cannot drive up to the hotel's front entrance so you will have to walk about 20 meters. We never ventured far from Zhengyang pedestrian street (behind hotel) for food options. For more options, follow this street all the way to the end, cross the main road of Jiefang E, then turn right. You will find a maze of amazing alleyways made to look like old China, with fantastic food stalls. We found a great underground mall food court called 1372 Food Leisure Park (clean!) while walking around these alleys. All the google Maps locators are incorrect so trust what you see on the ground
