The house was perfect for what we needed. With 2 families, the 2 king suites were ideal. The layout & location of the house were both great. The pool was close & we had an ocean view. Just lovely. A quirk, the house movesâŠa lot. On the top floor, if someone walked up the stairs or a truck drove by, it shook the whole house. It probably just comes with staying in a home on stilts.Iâm only rating this as 3 stars because of the stale smoke smell. Noticed it instantly! We almost left right then because we had a pregnant woman and small children/baby with us, not to mention severe allergies. We opted to stay because we didnât feel we had any other choice. The smell was obvious every time you left the house and came back in. Thankfully the weather was great so we could air out the place pretty much constantly, but everytime we shut the windows/door, the smell would be obvious again. The owner is aware. Offered to come by and âget the smell out,â but didnât end up showing up. Now that Iâm home, all of our clothes smell like stale cigarette smoke. Even clothes that are clean that we washed in the washing machine on property. Obviously itâs an ongoing issue if the washing machine even worsened the smell. This is so infuriating. My whole family, including toddler and baby, now have clothes that smell like cigarette smoke. Our entire wardrobes essentially ruined from staying in this place. The house & location⊠great! Stale smoke smell in a non smoking home? Beyond sickening.
