Wasn’t my favorite Hilton Garden Inn. The staff at check-in were very friendly and helpful. The lobby area was typical for a Hilton Garden Inn and in fairly good shape. The rooms and hallways however were lacking. In that sense, it felt more like a best western or Quality Inn. The room wasn’t bad but seemed very dated. There was a thermostat on the wall to control the AC. However it was not working and you had to control it on the unit itself. The lighting inside the room was kind of awkward and it never was enough light to use. Perhaps I haven’t stayed in a hotel in a while, but I was surprised to know that housekeeping only comes on request and after you check out. About that, housekeeping tried to come in my room 30 minutes before check-out. They didn’t give much warning time and I’m glad I had a restrain on the door or they would’ve just walked in on me taking a shower.. Also, the hallways smelled like marijuana bad. They had a small gym with some weights and treadmills, which was fairly nice and I also enjoyed the lazy river pool. Overall, it wasn’t bad but way overpriced for the quality you got out of it. I’m not sure if I will be back to this facility when I’m in the area. It is an acceptable hotel but I feel they are much better choices for the money.

Lazy River on a Beautiful Gulf-coast Beach

The beach view was narrow but still nice. This pet-friendly hotel is also designed for a great beach trip. The LAZY RIVER pool + BAR....if you like that, you'll love this. I actually swam the pool as laps as the current was strong enough to propel you through the water...that was so much fun. The pool deck and chairs are great, good sound system, excellent shade due to the hotel itself and its location. The beach access is easy and parking is plentiful. We were able to park our car underneath all 5 days. The food was good at the hotel, so you didn't have to leave if you wanted a quick meal...one was delivered to my poolside! Just loved our trip. I would go back again. Rooms were clean, a/c worked great, staff was responsive and prompt. We just had to request clean towels to have them delivered - and we didn't take the maid service since we left our little dog in the room. Now the decor....they could use a facelift in the rooms. Showers to be updated to modern Hilton standards - a standing glass door shower with a low step in for seniors. Needs more lights in the main room and more consistent, colorful wall decor. One big improvement: please upgrade the toilet paper. It's a 1-star toilet paper in a 4-star location!
