Check in was easy. Staff was rude when checking out. Our one night stay was over $700 for just the room. Not worth the cost. Our VRBO on the beach was $300 less per night and on the beach- much better option. It was clean and the breakfast buffet was good.

Great spot right on the beach! Beautiful pool area too! The bar had really great drinks and options. The outdoor grill was pretty decent, nothing amazing but it’s solid food for easy access. Very family friendly resort so there were a lot of kids running around. I wish the resort included beach chairs/umbrellas for their guest instead of $45/day, but the good thing is you can bring your own ice chest and chairs & beach supply if you want to! Staff was kind, but not super friendly. The best interaction was definitely the woman at the coffee shop! She was so great in the mornings. The resort is very clean. I believe it’s a good value for what you pay for. Especially the walking access to the gulf state park trail & park! It wasn’t my all time favorite hotel, but it was very nice and I’d recommend it for the area, especially if you have kids or are interested in being around a lot of them.

Overall a pleasant stay

Overall a very pleasant and enjoyable stay at the Lodge. Staff were very nice during check-in and check-out. Moreover, staff were very responsive and addressed quickly an issue with the room door not locking. The stay was dampened slightly due to our room location being on the first floor and close to the elevator/lobby where it was somewhat noisy due to guests not being mindful of the time (after 10pm) and voices carrying easily in the hallway.

We were supposed to be on a list to have our room changed to upper balcony. Upon arrival we were told that this was impossible to accomplishing where-in we were given a ground floor balcony sea side where you could not see the beach but just the dunes directly outside with construction tape markings and trash for our 'ocean view.' We were given the impression by staff for 6 months previous to arrival that we would be able to move up to the 4th floor for scenic view. Only to have those pre meditated hopes dashed by staff telling us that any move was impossible 'enjoy your stay' we were dissatisfied to say the least.
