OGP3A. Great 3BR. Sleeps 10. Community Dock. Beach. Pool. Tremendous value!
On Golden Pond 3A 1506 Sandpiper Lane #3A, Gulf Shores
At 3 Bedrooms and sleeping 10, one side of On Golden Pond 3 is the smallest, and most cost-efficient, of my places. Yet its cute, comfy, and a perfect place to spend your vacay! This listing is for the A unit of On Golden Pond #3.
2025-06-24. New 3D tour in VRBO!
OGP3A: Nice 3BR for less than a hotel! Community Pool. Dock. Quiet. Relax... for less! Can also be rented as a very affordable 6BR 6BA in the middle of Gulf Shores West Beach.
If you need a really nice smaller home, on a budget, OGP3 is perfect! Most seasons, it is less than the cost of a single hotel room per night, yet located in the middle of West Beach, lagoon side (nice shared dock and pool!), and only a short walk (1/4 mile) to the beach (you walk right next to my Seafoam home!).
3BR 3BA. OGP3 is lagoon side, however, it is not lagoon front (like my OGP5 home is). Easy access to the community dock, beach, and pool all right on the lagoon. Nice! And a nice price!
Looking for something a little smaller than most of my properties? Just as nice though! And at a great price!? OGP3 may be the perfect place for you!
On Golden Pond #3, aka OGP3, is a beautiful vacation home with easy access to the community dock, beach, and pool all right on the lagoon. OGP3 is on a private cul de sac shared by mostly owner occupied homes. OGP3 is not lagoon front though you can see the lagoon from the front deck for your little peak at the water in the evenings. OGP3 is the north side of a duplex (no shared living spaces) and we know the owners of the other side if you are interested in both, we are happy to reach out. If you want lagoon front, and a little bigger, check out my On Golden Pond #5 home!
This vacation home also features covered parking and access to the dock, pool, and beach. This unit is a tremendous value.
Each side of this lagoon side 3 bedroom, 3 bath duplex home has the following bedding:
BEDDING: Main Floor Bedroom: King 3rd Floor E Bedroom: Twin over Full Bunk 3rd Floor W Bedroom: King
Main Floor Living Room: Queen Sleeper Sofa 3rd Floor Lounge Room: Queen Sleeper Sofa
For a 3D tour of the setup of this side, please see the On Golden Pond 3b listing, as it has a new tour and is the same setup.
NICE COMMUNITY POOL, FISHING DOCK, AND BEACH The pool is on the lagoon. Great views of lagoon, pier, dock, while relaxing poolside. The pool is a 24x14x3-5' Community Pool. There's even a small lagoon, sand, beach right by the pool!
Fishing too from the nice community fishing pier and dock.
GULF BEACH ACCESS Public beach access is a 3 minute walk on a quiet road, then across west beach (as a crosswalk), right next to my Seafoam home! There is ALSO a lagoon front beach by our community pool. MORE? Yes. You can take the new pedestrian walkway from the road outside our home to the Calloway Bridge (and the public beach there too!). Nice walk along the lagoon!
PARKING There is available onsite parking for at least 4 cars. In fact, you could park more cars than you should be driving for a 10 person place! Inquire if you have special vehicle needs.
WIFI/INTERNET YES! We have an awesome Eero mesh network to ensure excellent wifi coverage throughout this spacious home. Spotty coverage is always an issue for big places. Sure internet may work next to the router in the living room, but what about the far reaches of the home!? That's why we installed a multi-node mesh network. And what's the internet like? It is generally solid and ran > 250Mb down the last test--sufficient for several simultaneous video conference sessions for remote work and education. Internet is, of course, an amenity and subject to service provider outages (and guests "troubleshooting" it), especially with the havoc the sand and salt wreak on cabling and facilities, no more so than any other home on the beach though, and likely better since its close in and new construction!
SOAPS, TOWELS, COFFEE, ETC ETC As with most beach homes in the area, the local mgt co provide what they call a "starter supply" of soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels, etc. Enough for the first night to get you going! Please plan to bring or purchase additional supplies, and any cleaning or pantry supplies you may need, or to make a quick run to the store (or have it delivered!). You will want to bring beach towels or beach chairs as well. Because mgt cos will not generally support them, grills are not provided, though they are sometimes inherited from prior guests: your mileage may vary on this, and we usually assess and then go snag a small charcoal kettle when we come down ourselves. Also of note: at many locations, you may find the bunk beds (and certain other beds) are not fully made--instead a bedding pack is provided. This is a common practice for the local management companies, which is both green (if the bedding is not used, it doesn't have to be laundered) AND more sanitary--housekeeping does not have to crawl on the bunks and so on to make the beds. Also also... all our homes have drip coffee makers and most now have Keurigs as well.
PETS We do consider well-behaved canine furry friends. This requires owner pre-approval, and is subject to a pet fee (currently $250 per pet). Please inquire.
No smoking please, but feel free to eat lots of shrimp, bask in the warm sun, and have a great time!
That's it! We think you'll have a great stay in our home. Reach out and let us know how we can help!
SNOWBIRDS! Up to 2/3rds off for off-season stays of 28 days or longer.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we couldnât leave! We extended our stay several more weeks. This is the perfect location between the lagoon and the beach! Weâve been riding bikes and walking. Weâve enjoyed fishing from the pier. Weâve made several huge sandcastles at the beach! Weâve had everything we needed at this lovely duplex, including a jacuzzi tub! This has been the most enjoyable beach vacation ever!
This was the perfect property for our family. The pictures are very accurate. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had the extras I didnât bring from home. It is in a great place for pets, would stay again. If you are going to the beach it would be an easy walk. The weather didnât cooperate for us. We really enjoyed it.
This was a great beach house for our family! Tons of space for everyone to utilize day and night! All beds were comfy and the pictures were as described!
Very short walk to the beach...6 minutes or 2 songs and great area! Lots of parking on site, great decks and loved having our own rinse area as well!
Definitely staying here again if it's available and thebrates are very reasonable and competitive! Bama Beach house team was a pleasure to work with and VERY fast as communicating!
Thanks again!
This was our first trip to Gulf Shores and it did not disappoint. The weather was fantastic every day and we were so close to the Beach! The property was awesome.. surrounded by the bay and a short walk to the beach. The boys loved fishing on the bay side and the beach was never very crowded. The house was perfect.. clean and a great size for two families. We canât wait to go back!
Accommodations were as reported. Great location. Convenient to beach, lagoon & pool. A couple of the beds were subpar. But we had everything we needed for 10. Thanks.
The house was perfect for our family & extended family (4 adults & 3 children) and could have easily âhandledâ more!
We were just a short walk from the ocean, and a great dock set-up for fishing on the lagoon.
The beds were all super comfy and linens were clean.
Since our trip Iâve communicated with the owner of the property who has been awesome and extremely friendly. Iâm not sure when weâll be back to Gulf Shores - but will not hesitate to stay here again or one of his other properties in the area!
Our family enjoyed our stay. We love the location being very close to a small dock for fishing, crabbing and swimming and walking distance to the beach. Some of the bedrooms were different from what was pictured. We had a little hiccup during check in with the lockbox having dead batteries but the property manager was able to provide assistance to us promptly. We appreciate the quick response to get us into the house especially after driving for 14 hours. Minor things with cleaning on pullout couch but nothing major. Great house would stay again!
We spend a week with our friends, about five couples, every year in Gulf Shores. This property fit our needs well. The place was spotless, beds were comfortable, and it was easy walking distance to the beach. We were a little disappointed because we thought the building backed up to the pier and pool. It did not; both are across the cul-de-sac beside a different building. Both were taken over by large families, so we couldnât use them despite wanting to. Ended up just spending more time on the beach, which was fine. It was a little difficult to grill out since the area behind the house was so small, but doable. Only other items worth mentioning: the toilet in the master suite stopped working properly (broken handle/mechanism) and we noticed a very large/bad leak in the ceiling of the car port; most likely coming from an appliance in the kitchen. Neither impacted our stay too badly, but will definitely require fixing!
We all had plenty of room. We enjoyed the covered pier for fishing and pool were both just across the drive. Beach is close enough to walk to as well. We had a great time and I would recommend this property to anyone.
The beach house was layed out well, but it left much to be desired.
Luckily only 7 of our 8 guests arrived, as both couches were completely unfit for sleeping, much less sitting on. They were tired and worn out, the cushions were torn. The couch mattresses were nothing but covered coils with no padding and the mattress covers were stained and rusty. I could honestly have found better at The Good Will.
The bedrooms were spacious with nice looking furniture, lots of storage, but the first floor master bedroom boxsprings were very noisy when you moved making it hard to get any sleep. The twin bed box springs upstairs were the same but the master bed upstairs was very comfortable. There is no way this place sleeps 10 in it's present condition. We had to get a blow up mattress for one of our guests to sleep on all week.
The master bath upstairs did not have a shower diverter which was inconvenient, but thankfully there was a second bathroom on that floor with a shower that we could use.
The toilet downstairs never stopped running even after shaking the handle. It could use some repair.
There were filthy oven mitts under the kitchen sink, a left over spilled drink down the side of a pleather chair and a dirty oven when we arrived. Cleanliness was ok otherwise.
It would also have been nice to know that there would be construction going on at both neighboring beach houses all week.
Hopefully they will be updating their beach house in the near future as it seems the others in the area are all getting upgrades and this one is definitely showing wear and needs a decorator.
My family enjoyed this property. Itâs literally across from the beach. A fishing dock and pool is located in the small area as well. The kids and family enjoyed the location and convenience of everything being so close together.
We really enjoyed this home. It's minutes from the beach, sits right on the bay, and it's far enough down the strip to be in a quiet area while also being within 5 minutes of all shopping. Communication with the owners before and after our stay was amazing and added the cherry on top of an excellent stay.
We enjoyed it! Location was perfect! Reasonable walking distance to the beach! Communication with the owner was fabulous from start to finish! The pull out sofa upstairs and Master bed were very uncomfortable, we ended up not using the sofa bed at all. The house wasnât cleaned very well. Floors, chairs were sticky. Bathroom downstairs had trash in it and shower and sink had hair and dirt in them. Otherwise it was absolutely amazing!
The house is in a great location with the lagoon and dock on one side and the beach just a couple of minutes away on the other. The beach was beautiful and not overly crowded. However, the house was not clean for our arrival. Some of the kitchen cabinets were sticky on the outside, dirty on the inside. Bathroom floor had hair on it. So, that was really disappointing especially considering what we paid to stay here.
We loved the location of this rental property. Tucked away between the beach and waterway with the fishing pier and pool just a short walk from the home and the beach just a few hundred yards from the door. Close to restaurants and shopping, but far enough away to not be congested. The Fishing pier was awesome. My kids spent more time out there than anywhere else. The house itself needed a little love and repair, we had a few issues with minor things not working when we arrived, but the management company was responsive. The entire home could use an upgrade, but for the price it was great spot for our vacation.
Great location - we loved the small neighborhood and the community pool and covered fishing pier. The owners were very responsive and easy to work with.
We had a party of 8 and the size and sleeping arrangements were adequate. Mattresses could use some updating, master very hard and sleeper sofa very poor.
Be prepared for kitchen shortcomings no oven mitts and unit only provided one dish rag and towel.
outdoor furniture almost unusable.
Unit could use a deep cleaning, base boards, windows, sliding glass door, and pull out trash compartment needed cleaning.
Neighborhood great and close to the beach.
Overall and excellent week.
