Beautiful place to stay
Posted Jun. 2, 2024 on HomeAwayMy family and I were fairly impressed with this beautiful rustic property. It was super functional and has everything and more that we wanted.
We loved the animals and little personalised touches linking back to the history of the Richards family.
Sean was was absolutely amazing and super responsive, which made the stay more special.
Love love love this place and will definitely be back :)

No fuss comfortable retreat
Posted May 27, 2024 on HomeAwayThe Grove has everything which you could possibly need, including a toasty fire for those cold nights. It's no frills accomodation in a great location and the host provides friendly and thoughtful service. I will certainly return.

Nature paradise just a few feet away
Posted May 2, 2024 on HomeAwayWe enjoyed our three day stay, very comfy beds, everything there that we needed to cook our dinner. Great tv with Stan and Amazon. But the beauty of the Grove is that the bird life, and creek across the road is so very special.

Perfect farm-stay experience!
Posted Apr. 30, 2024 on HomeAwayWe had hoped for a getaway experience where we could relax with our 2 dogs and experience a farm stay. What we got far exceeded our expectations! The yard was perfectly secure for our little Houdini, whilst being large enough for the soccer-mad staffy.
The home was like stepping back into our grandparents’ home - with all the love and cleanliness and personal touches. But it had lovely modern surprises, including a smart TV and a huge updated bathroom!
Our host had prepped the open fire to the point it just needed a lit match… with plenty of spare wood to see us through an ice age!
The kitchen was well equipped, (loved the sandwich toaster!) But you can’t go past the famous steak meal at the Gunny pub! Worth every penny!
Loved the town, loved the comfy bed, loved the views, loved the Gunbower people… will definitely be coming back! And will, most definitely want to stay here again!

Restful
Posted Apr. 14, 2024 on HomeAwayOld but clean and tidy. Functional kitchen, split sytems in 2 bedrooms and lounge (which flowed into kitchen). 2 TV'S ( one with movies, sport etc). In all, comfortable.

Relaxtion Plus!
Posted Apr. 2, 2024 on HomeAwayThis is the second time that our family has stayed at one of the farm stay properties. We were not disappointed. The property was absolutely amazing boasting a fantastic location with serene water views peeking through the trees from the front yard, close proximity and a good walk or pushbike ride to the local cafe (a must visit for the best home - made pies, treats and great coffee), pub and roadhouse, a securely fenced yard for dogs and everything you really could ask for, including kayaks and a basketball ring. All basic cooking utensils / amenities are provided including drinking water. The outdoor seating area is beautiful, tucked away at the front of the house where you can spend hours overlooking the lush green garden and beautiful trees. Firewood is also provided for the indoor fireplace and there is also an outdoor fire pit and BBQ. There is a boat ramp within a few hundred metres where you can launch your fishing boat. A comfortable getaway to unwind and relax with your entire family including your fur babies. Sean was excellent with his communication.

Peace and tranquility.
Posted Mar. 30, 2024 on HomeAwayWe had a wonderful, peaceful and relaxing 10 days at "The Grove". This charming and quirky old farmhouse had all we needed for our stay. The "loo with a view" out the back was a blast from the past for us. Great bathroom with plenty of room and the best shower. We especially appreciated the secure back yard for our 2 little "fur kids" and they had a great time pretending to be farm dogs. We even caught some fish.
Thank you to Sean and the Richards family for making their property available, especially for those of us who prefer to holiday with their dogs.
Highly recommend to anyone needed a break from their busy life. Sean is very approachable and quick to reply to queries and we hope to return in the future.
