Worst bed I have tried to sleep in-ever! Commented on it the next morning at check out. She asked me if there was a foam topper on bed and I told her there wasn't. She said she would check into it but have not heard back from them at all. We were only there 1 night but our backs hurt for the rest of our trip. Usually stay here once a year for over 20 years to visit friends but will not stay here again.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the annual car show and downtown. The sign states the Wingate provides hot breakfast and the weekend hours are 7 to 10 a.m. When my husband and I arrived at the breakfast room the door was open, but there was nothing for breakfast. We called the number at the front desk since the desk was unattended, and were informed that the breakfast lady was sick and did not come in. A hotel with 64 rooms should have a back-up plan in this case. We had to go downtown for breakfast instead of enjoying a quiet breakfast at the hotel.

Breakfast was supposed to start at 7am. We went at 7:30.There was very little cold ceral. I asked the desk clerk and she said someone had not come into work. We had to leave early so therefore were not happy that it was advertised that Breakfast was at 7:00 and still 7:30 very little.

This room was fine for our purposes - but it had an old air conditioner unit that sounded like a jet engine taking off all night. There was also a broken tile in the bathroom which we had to step over (it was right by the door) because it would flip up and possibly cut a foot.

Loud air-conditioning which also was covered by the curtains which make it so inefficient. Strobe lighting on the fire alarm on the ceiling. Very gritty and grimy floor. Terrible terrible breakfast

The room was clean but felt dated and could use some updating and repairs. The mattress was cheap and overly springy, which made for a less-than-ideal sleep. When we arrived, the cleaning product smell was so strong we had to air out the room before getting comfortable. Overall, it was fine for a quick overnight, but some improvements to the furnishings and cleaning practices would go a long way in elevating the guest experience.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The place was a bit run down. The hot tub was kind of dirty. Electrical outlet plates were not properly secured as was the shower knob. Parking was extremely tight.
