Overall great experience. Would have given them a 5/5 stars, but unfortunately had an unpleasant encounter with checkout. Upon checking in, we were told that our checkout is 11 AM. Our booking information also said checkout is 11AM. At 10:10 AM, we received a phone call that we were late for checkout. Tried to reconfirm with staff that our checkout time was 11 AM, but we were told no and that we must check out immediately. We were just about to use our private onsen one last time, but unfortunately were not able to as we rushed out of the hotel room.

Please understand the room benefit of a drink credit is not applied to your bar tab. That is some drinks they put in the room at the start of your stay and call complimentary. We had drinks each night thinking we were using this credit and owed at the end. It is difficult to get a cab and the shuttle is rare. Definitely take a cab to the onsen. The hill is more than 20 minutes walk from station.

Fabulous! Not a negative comment about anything. Everyone was so welcoming. The food was delicious. The private onsen on the patio was the cherry on top. Easy walk to town for us but i will add there is a steep slope that could be challenging for some with luggage so you may want to take the bus. Highly recommend this experience!

Man this place was cool, staff was awesome too, great view definitely a little hike up a hill but it’s not far from the station and the surrounding area is so beautiful it didn’t even matter, super close to that waterfall walkway thing which is awesome, it’s just a great area loved it, and the bathtub was awesome, I definitely wore my kimono wrong but the staff was so nice reguardless made me feel very nice. and the japanese experience is REAL here aswell

Excellent hotel with perfect services, actually I believe this hotel offered one of the best service we have received during our trip to Japan. Our stay has been included Japanese's style dinner and break fast and an hour massage for two. Super friendly staff, clean and very pleasant ambience.

Great Place to Stay in Hakone

Beautiful scenery, great staff, and very accommodating for any needs. Best to go with someone who at least has an introductory level of Japanese to help with communication.
