Situated at 9 Mackeys Peak Rd, Amaroo Retreat offers you, brand new luxury retreat accommodation, set amongst a well established, peaceful garden, which provides you with unparalled views of Mackeys Peak.

We can accommodate up to four guests. This makes it the ideal accommodation for couples and families, with both King and Queen spacious bedrooms. Modern décor and bespoke granite furniture and bench tops, compliment the layout. The bathroom features a luxurious spa, large walk in shower and granite vanity, to provide all you need for a wonderful holiday.

**** Please note that the price is only based on 2 adults staying at the property. An extra charge will be added for additional guests staying******

Panoramic windows bring the garden inside, and add to the peaceful feel of Amaroo Retreat.

The outside BBQ Pavilion in the rear garden, gives you fabulous views, and a place to relax, and take in the wildlife that visit the garden daily.

A dry creek bed and bridge add to the charm of this wonderful garden.

The front deck gives further entertaining opportunities, and looks straight up to Mackeys Peak.


We supply all linen, towels, tea, coffee, sugar and milk.

Whilst the house was very cute, comfortable and close to everything in town. We arrived to a house with only half electricity and no firepit, which was meant to be a highlight of our trip and something we were very much looking forward to. It took 1.5 days to get a response from the nominated contact regarding our concerns.

Clean and comfortable

Check in was really easy. The property is very clean and well maintained. In particular the bathroom is excellent. It has a spa bath and the shower is sensational with a large footprint and brilliant water pressure.The beds are large and comfortable.Super location in the heart of Halls Gap.Highly recommended.

Highly recommended central location

We cannot recommend this property highly enough. Perfect central location in a quiet street and easy walking for all Halls Gap amenities. Host Tara was delightful to deal with and very responsive, we extended our stay over the Aust Day weekend with no issue at all. The house is generously stocked with all requirements for a very comfortable stay. Fantastic outdoor areas, front and back of house and lots of wildlife visitors. HG is very dry and with the recent fires as well, the garden is a bit neglected and outdoor tables/chairs needed a clean but this was a very minor issue in an otherwise outstanding stay. We will be back soon hopefully - the nearby Kookaburra Bistro & Bar is a must visit!!

Absolute "Gem" of a cottage in Hall's Gap!

Amaroo Retreat is a beautiful, well appointed house in Halls Gap. It is spotlessly clean and has been decorated in a tastefully modern and appealing way. The gardens are delightful and well kept, the children enjoyed going for a wander in the backyard through what felt like their own private secret garden. The location is outstanding - you are right in the heart of town and only need to cross the road at the end of the street to get to a range of restaurants, bars and even a brewery. You are also literally on the doorstep of so many kangaroos and other wildlife that frequent the field across the road from the house. Tamara, the host, is so lovely to deal with, she was very generous and kind to us with our booking. Don't think twice about booking this place, it will exceed your expectations. We can't wait to be back some day soon.

Amazing Amaroo

We had a wonderful stay at Amaroo, it is a short walk to the main street of Halls Gap. The house itself was clean, peaceful, very comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. Relaxing by a fire watching the kangaroos hop past was awesome.
