Little bit different hotel feels like a family run hotel, couple of small things could be added like black out blinds, hooks on bathroom door in room 7,bed little bit uncomfortable, lovely breakfast included in the price which was very good .
very tranquil ideal for a peaceful relaxing break
excellent staff good english cooking
comfortable room good clean bathroom
would strongly recommend it
guestling hall hotel was the perfect stop off for our weekend trip. the staff were super helpful and friendly, room was satisfactory and the complimentary breakfast was excellent! will be back if ever in the area again!
Amazing place. Super room with huge bed and 2 comfortable arm chairs. Large tv. Downstairs were 2 large rooms which we could relax in and look at the many interesting and exotic objects on display. Excellent breakfast.
We truly enjoyed our stay at Guestling. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. A special thank you to Catherine for the great dining recommendations in the areas that we visited while staying at Guestling.
Friendly, welcoming staff.
Room was clean and comfortable. However, there was a water outage when we arrived which, luckily was sorted that evening. We had a problem with the shower but it was sorted that day.
Breakfast was included but would have liked more variety if we had stayed longer.
We very much liked the overall approach of the hotel, from the warm welcome of the helpful staff to the clean presentation of the rooms to the adaptation of the breakfast menu to suit our preferences. One small improvement would be to install handrails for the deep bathtubs.
My husband and I chose this hotel to spend a couple of days away to celebrate our 28 year anniversary. The staff couldn't do enough for us and i think it was Chloe who decorated our room beautifully with heart decorations, which was very much appreciated. The hotel was clean and tidy and had an en suite bathroom and the grounds were nice . The breakfast was served really quickly and was of a good standard. The only negative we had, and unfortunately did affect our stay , was the bed , while it looked impressive, and I'm not sure if all the beds in the hotel were the same but there was 2 mattresses doubled up on eachother so there wasn't any back support and resulted in my husband and i being in alot of pain with our necks and backs . Apart from this we had a pleasant stay .
I really wanted to throughly enjoy our stay hence why we ended up booking 2 nights instead of 1 however so many small issues that coild so easilh be resolved to make this hotel perfect.
Room 8 the side of the toilet was dirty, the shower seal had black mould. The curtains once closed where covered jn cobwebs, my husband dropped his cap side of bed and picked it up covered jn dust. Needed binoculars to see the tv from the bed, The complimentry cider was 2 months out of date. The landing stair carpet was dirty.
Room5 the shower head was cracked, there was no non slip mat for bath or handles to ease getting in and out. The curtains needed to be blackout or just a blind. The lamp was broken, the sheet didnt fit the bed. The external windows on both rooms were dirty and covered jn cobwebs not fresh ones either.
Both evenings we had notes through the door with regards to the evening meals chef being late, meals not available. Breakfast menu just needs updating has it doesnt list what you get on full english correctly. The external of the buildinv needs some tlc.
Such a shame we encountered these issues has it is a lovely buildinv and with some tweeks it could be fabulous. Its lacking attention to detail.
