Bunkhouse at Side Road Farm charming one bedroom cottage
This charming one bedroom cottage in Healdsburg is known as the bunkhouse at side road farm built in 1949. The bunkhouse is 592 ft.ÂČ consisting of a bedroom with vaulted ceilingâs and hardwood floorâs queen size bed and walk-in closet. The living room has a smart TV, couch and table and chairs with a kitchen nook that includes a mini refrigerator/freezer microwave and Keurig coffee maker. The bathroom has a remodeled shower stall, sink with large counter space and a toilet. The property sits on over 3 acres of land that once was an old horse ranch. However today it is the home of Side Road farm. We are a farm specializing in fruits and vegetables along with a small flock of chickens including a rooster. There is a black lab named Suzy on the property. We are in walking distance to 3 wineries. Your hosts live on the property with their dog. We are available if needed to help with your stay.
Easy to get to. Close to town but far enough away to feel secluded. Easy to get around and Sue and Edward were great hosts. I even got to throw the ball with Suzy for a little bit.
Had a nice stay at the bunkhouse. Sue added in many nice amenities. It was just what we needed for our stay in the area. Clean, comfortable and easy to get to from Healdsburg.
This property was perfect for my wife and me to use as a hub for winery visits in Sonoma. The cottage was clean, quiet and safe, attractively appointed, accessible, and conveniently located. The property is an easy 4-minute drive to downtown Healdsburg restaurants and shopping, 8-10 minutes from Dry Creek Valley and the Russian River Valley, and other interesting spots in Sonoma County. We would stay here again when we return.
We had such a great trip touring vineyards and being able to come back to a peaceful space was so important to us. We slept so well and enjoyed the serene environment provided for us. We were welcomed with snacks and wine that we enjoyed! Suzanne is a top notch host with a heart of gold. We would love to come back, and we have to because we forgot to sign the guest book! Floral bouquets for each room were a nice touch, my kind of hosting!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay in the bunkhouse in early March. Suzanne is a very generous and welcoming host -- thank you again for the delicious bottle of sauvignon blanc and other goodies! Communications with Suzanne were always clear and timely. The bunkhouse is very comfortable for a couple, with nice linens on the bed, plentiful towels in the bath, plenty of coffee for the morning. The location is perfect for exploring the beautiful Sonoma wine-country. We would love to return for a longer stay!
We had a lovely stay at the Bunkhouse! It was perfect for my husband and I for a long weekend. Sue was an amazing host! The property is so cute! Itâs very central to the square and walkable to a few wineries. We would definitely stay again!
Perfect spot for a visit to Sonoma Valley wine tours. Located near many wineries and Healdsburg. The Bunkhouse is quaint and relaxing with its country style feel. A stress free visit. Sue went beyond the call of duty to make us feel at home and comfortable. She did a great job of communication. I highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing cottage with all the amenities.
Perfect stay in beautiful quiet road close to many vineyards
My husband and I stayed in mid October and would definitely stay here again. Perfect set up for us with a beautiful location for visiting many wineries on the same road but also super quick and easy drive to Healdsburg plaza. Nice touch with the bottle of wine and basket of fruit from the farm. Sue was super helpful but not overbearing. The mornings are foggy as expected but still beautiful. Absolutely no issues. Shower, Wi-Fi, TV, AC, little kitchen nook all better than expected actually. Super comfortable bed.
The location is wonderful for hitting wineries in the Healdsburg, Geyserville and Sebastopol areas. The bunkhouse itself is charming and nicely equipped, and Sue was a pleasure to work with. Would happily stay here again!
Sue and Ed were fantastic hosts, leaving us to our own plans but willingly offering recommendations on sites to see, wineries to visit, places to eat. Everything was fantastic. I'd highly recommend this place as a great getaway location. We will be back!
Excellent property and location. We loved it. We weren't able to enjoy the outside because it rained all weekend, but it was the perfect place for R&R - quiet and rural but still very close to town. Sue is a great host - thanks again, Sue!
Suzanne is an outstanding host and this property has everything.... proximity to Healdsburg while also making you feel
a world away when you are on the property! The Bunkhouse is cozy and private, and the views of the Dry Creek Valley are breathtaking! We will be back!
Would be perfectly convenient place to stay if not for the heat wave (July) - while it's listed as having A/C, it is not central air, only a portable unit on one side of the bunkhouse. When we arrived it was not yet turned on... in >100 degree heat. Until the temperatures outside cooled after 2 days, the house was not comfortable.
That said, if traveling in a cooler month, it is a very cute spot, the hosts are very kind and helpful, and it was a great location.
Beautiful farmhouse feel on Westside Road, perfect location for visiting wineries and downtown Healdsburg. Sue provided all the touches from fresh flowers to coffee (enough even for us and we drink a lot of coffee!), to water and wine waiting in the fridge. Perfect.
I can't say enough wonderfulf things about our stay! Sue was the perfect host and the space was immaculate. Comfortable bed, good sized closet to stow suitcases & hang clothes, nice hot shower & a comfy couch. There's a small fridge with a top freezer, a microwave & a keurig, which worked fine for us. The location is excellent. Minutes from downtown, wineries, restaurants, and a Safeway conveniently down the street. Honestly, we can't say enough good things and can't wait for our next visit!
Beautiful, quiet location. Convenient to everything we needed( airport, wineries, restaurants). Sue was an AMAZING host⊠we were greeted in this cozy oasis by Sue, a charming venue, fresh flowers, snacks, and a bottle of chilled wine! We are already planning our next trip!!!!
What a lovely weekend I had at Sueâs Bunkhouse on the Westside of Healdsburg. The place was charming, welcoming, clean, comfortable and serene in the heart of the Wine Country. If you like the country, you will love this little cabin surrounded by the sights and sounds of good country living. Sue thoughtfully provided me with wonderfully delicious chocolates, candied walnuts, cookies, bottled water, and the best bottle of wine straight from a local vineyard! Conveniently located, I easily went to/from the quaint and historic town of Healdsburg, as well as enjoyed local quiet walks through the redwoods, and a bicycle ride on a mountain loop overlooking the Wine Country at Foothill Regional Park which is within a short drive away. I would highly recommend Sueâs Bunkhouse for your next vacation get-away to the wine country! It was superb! Thank you again, Sue, for taking such good, quality care of me during my visit.
Location: Beautiful area full of vineyards. Great access to 101 Fwy. to visit friends in Geyserville, Windsor and Cotati. Westside nearby road provides an alternate route toward Sebastopol or Gurneville for coastal access in Bodega Bay and beyond. Sleeping: The bed and pillows were wonderful. Flannel sheets warmed quickly through the night. Itâs a farm and there is a rooster. After the first night wife didnât hear it but it bothered husband. Host kindly provided earplugs but hubby has big ear holes; wouldnât stay in. Host might want to provide an assortment of sizes. He found the pillow-over-the -head helped. Eating: Kitchen/eating supplies were adequate for microwave cooking. We told the host that we drank decalf and she made sure there was plenty of decalf K- Cups for the coffee maker. We brought additional. Host left us a nice bottle of wine, fresh fruit and some candied walnuts (made there). Lovely fresh tulips and daffodils were in the living room and bedroom. Environment: There are lots of windows in the bunkhouse to let the sun shine in. Husband loved the shower; had excellent water pressure.. There are games, books and periodicals for reading. The host put together a nice information notebook for us to navigate Healdsburg.
What a cozy little place! Sue was a great comunicator and greeted us upon checking in. The bunk house is located on their cute farm. We were pleasantly surprised at how big it actually was, my expectations were definitely exceeded. It's close to downtown Healdsburg and all the little shops, and even walking distance to 2 wineries. Will definitely be looking at this place again when we decide to come back to Healdsburg! Thanks Sue!!
