Citybox is exactly as described--bare bones, clean, and comfortable. I did not use the laundry facilities or really engage with any staff except housekeeping, who kindly offered to help me with my bags when I was struggling to pull them all. The bed was comfortable, linens were clean, and the room was surprisingly spacious. My only real complaint was the water temperature didn't get quite hot enough for my liking, and I would have really appreciated if they had a sauna to match Finnish culture. It was about 15 minutes walking to the University of Helsinki campus and had a lot of grocery stores, cafes, and dining options nearby. Overall, this was a really great budget-friendly stay and kept me comfortable for 5 days.

No vehicular access! Stay away!

The property is surrounded by a years-long major road construction project. Thus it is utterly inaccessible by car or taxi. This is not in any way communicated by the management. And there are no signs near the temporary "gangplank" to the hotel to indicate that one is going in the right direction. This complete lack of necessary communication is unacceptable! In my case, it resulted in two hours of wandering and an added taxi expense. Once inside, the hotel clerk was outstandingly helpful and friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. But the irresponsible behavior of the management cannot be forgiven or ignored. I must recommend not staying at this property!

A wonderful stay!

I love the CityBox brand and stay here whenever I am in Scandinavia. The room was excellent - without frills (minimalist in design) , and very comfortable. Location was ideal with the subway access in the building, and teams stopping almost across the street. Lots of dining options in the area as well as a lovely cafe that had breakfast. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends. My only suggestion would be to clearly identify when cleaning is scheduled. My stay was 10 days long, and cleaning happened twice.
