The space This building has been here since 1848, back when Hermann was just getting started. The same red brick walls that welcomed travelers then are still doing the job today. We just added a little whiskey to Missouri's wine country.
The distillery tasting room is right next door and open Wednesday through Saturday. Even on the weekends, things wrap up by 8:30pm, so you get the experience without it turning into a late-night situation.
The suite sits on the ground level, just a small step up from the sidewalk, so coming and going is easy. You are right in the middle of historic downtown, so you might hear folks heading home after a good time. The brick walls and new windows help keep things comfortable, but we like to be upfront about the setting.
Mornings are a different pace. Quiet, slow, and a good excuse to grab coffee from your kitchen or stroll to one of the spots a couple blocks in either direction.
You're about a 4-block walk from the Amtrak (Missouri River Runner) station and visitor center, making travel from KC or STL easy. Just across the river is the Katy Trail if you feel like getting outside and exploring. We also have on-site air for bikes, and you're welcome to store up to two bicycles right in your suite.
If you're here for a festival, you picked the right spot. The Oktoberfest beer garden and amphitheater are just a block or two away, so you are close enough to enjoy it and close enough to call it a night whenever you're ready. Plus, the local trolley and shuttles offer day passes to take you beyond the downtown to local wineries.
Guest access Guests have private access to their suite, with easy entry in and out of the building.
And we're just getting started. As we continue building out the full Rickhouse Retreats experience, a shared upstairs deck and guest lounge are on the way. Think relaxed mornings, slow evenings, and a little extra space to gather or unwind.
If you're staying with us now, you're getting an early look at what's becoming something really special.
